LEXINGTON PLANNING BOARD
June 28, 1976
The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:40 p.m.
by the chairman Mr. MacKenzie, with members Friedman, Brown, Zabin, planning
director Briggs, and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in attendance were
Richard Rogers, D.A.C., and Joe Gavaghan, Lexington Minute -Man.
Minutes of Planning Board meeting of June 7, 1976, were approved as MINUTES 6.7.
amended. APPROVED
Request of developer Everett J. Tingley for extension on Blossom Hill BLOSSOM HILL
Estates subdivision was noted. Discussion followed concerning deferral ESTATES SUBDV
of Planning Board action on the plan pending settlement of a court case
(Gaillard vs. B/A) involving the subdivision. Upon a motion duly made and
seconded, it was VOTED:
To extend to August 10, 1976, the time on or before which the Planning
Board must act on the definitive subdivision plan entitled "Blossom
Hill Estates", dated October 20, 1975, revised May, 1976, by
Northeastern Eng'g. Assoc., as requested by Ernest J. Tingley, applicant.
Action on the preliminary plan for Kendall Gardens subdivision was
considered. Lack of required information regarding connection of the
proposed subdivision street to Kendall Rd. was noted and Planning Board
letter, dated 6.2.76, to the applicant, Roger Corbin, requesting evidence
of legal rights to improve Kendall Rd., was read. Mr. Briggs informed
the members that such information has not been furnished. Upon a motion
duly made and seconded, it was VOTED:
To disapprove the preliminary subdivision plan entitled "Kendall
Gardens Lexington, Mass.", dated February 25, 1976, revised May 3,
1976, by Joseph W. Moore Co., Roger M.Corbin, applicant.

Plan submitted with application Form A76-19, showing three lots at Wood FORM A76-19
Street, was reviewed, and Mr. Briggs recapped Town Meeting action (Art.88,W00D ST.
1976) which allowed transfer of adjoining Town -owned land to owners of
the abovementioned lots to supply frontage which was lost when Wood St.
was relocated. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED:
The plan submitted on June 23, 1976, by William J. Daily, Esq., with
Application Form A76-19, entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass."
dated May 14, 1976, by E. P. Kingsbury, showing lots 249A through
254F at Wood Street, requires no approval under the Subdivision
Control Law.
TOPICS plans for improvement to two locations in Lexington were reviewed. TOPICS PLANS
Regarding redesign of the intersection at Pleasant St, and Mass. Ave.,
it was agreed that the plan has merit if it proceeds on the assumption that
traffic regulations for the area will be consistently enforced. Implement-
ation of B/A Condition (1976 Permit -Wilson's Farm) banning parking on the
westerly side of Pleasant St. by installation of a sign, will be recommended.

It was also agreed that the redesign at Waltham St./Marrett Rd. should TOPICS PLANS
include upgrading of traffic light signalization and remarking of road
lanes. The Planning Director will draft a letter to the Board of Selectmen
reflecting the abovementioned.
B/A notices for 7.8.76 were noted. It was decided that no Planning Board B/A HEARINGS
comment on any but the Fleming petition will be made. 7.8.76
Messrs. MacKenzie and Zabin plan to attend the June 30 hearing on the MELTING POT
petition of Cambridgeport Bank to locate in Lexington Center. Oral CAMBRIDGEPORT
statement in opposition, on behalf of.the Planning Board, as stated in BANK
the Board's 6/21/76 letter to the Banking Commissioner, will be given.
