HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-03-24PLANNING BOARD MEETING March 24, 1975 ' The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by the chairman Dr. Clarke with members Zabin, MacKenzie, Brown, planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Mr. Karsten Sorenson, spokesperson for 15 residents also in attendance, 82 WALTHAM ST. expressed opposition to a proposal for commercial land use at 082 WalthamLAND USE St., which is zoned RS. Referrence was made to a letter from Mr. Briggs on behalf of the Planning Board, dated March 13, 1975, to Ms. Johnson and Mr. Miller, proponents of a plan to operate a paddle ball court and tennis pro shop at the above-mentioned location. The letter, which ex- pressed approval of the concept of commercial land use at 82 Waltham St. because of its unique situation with several non-residential uses abutting, was discussed and position of the Board was clarified with respect to the inapprdpriateness of the proposal and its sevezeimpact on abuttors. The plan was so endorsed by members of the Board. Mr. Briggs reported on his conversation with Wayne Barber, Flintlock ARTICLE 86 developer, and his expression of opposition to Citizens' Article 86, WOOD ST. proposing acquisition of a portion of the Flintlock site for conser- vation. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: The plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", dated March 11, 1975, by Miller & Nylander, subadtted on March 14, 19759 by John Tuttle for Scott Follansby, showing land at Wellington Lane Ave., requires no approval under the Subdivision Control Law. The plan was so endorsed by members of the Board.
