PLANNING BOARD MEETING
October 29, 1974
The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:35 p.m.
by the chairman Dr. Clarke with members Costello, MacKenzie, L. Brown, and
S. Brown, planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in
attendance were Gary Marshall, DAC, and Paul Restuccia, Lexington Patriot.
Mr. Briggs reported on latest revision of the Ostroff proposal for devel- OSTROFF
opment at "First" and "Second" streets and showed sketches of 13 (Ostroff BATTLEVIEW
design) lots and 9 (planning director design) lots on the parcel. Status
of the streets and alternative designs were discussed. It was generally
agreed that the Planning Board may consider less than full zoning require-
ments with the possibility of combination with abutting Modoono land.
Town Counsel will be consulted as to advisability of such a compromise.
At 8:10 p.m. the Board joined the Bd. of Selectmen for an informative
briefing by George Stuopis, H. W. Lochner, on plans for the Hartwell Ave.
connector road and 400 car fringe parking area. Also in attendance were
Messrs Ricciardi and Murphy, State DPW. Mr. Stuopis pointed out location
of the road and lot, alignment of which is the same as a plan presented
in 1973. Proximity to Tophet Swamp was noted, and elevations for the lot
were given. There are few land takings anticipated as most land involved
is Town -owned. A public hearing on the proposal will be held on Nov. 19,
1974, at 8 p.m. in Cary Memorial Hall.
At 9:55 p.m. the Planning Board returned to its office.
