Sec. 5, for extension to June 11, 1974, Upon a motion duly
made and seconded, it was VOTED:
To extend to June 11, 1974, inclusive, the time on or

Eight residents of Oak Park II subdivision met with the Board at
9:20 p.m.,to present a petition, read by Dr. Clarke, that the
requirement for installation of sidewalks in the subdivision be
waived. Following discussion of requirements as stated in the
Subdivision Rules and Regulations, and possible future expansion
of the development and extension of the road which would
necessitate construction of sidewalks, it was agreed that effort
would be made to establish a Town policy on cul-de-sac sidewalks.
Mr. Davies, DAC, will give advice as to opinions on cul-de-sac
sidewalk construction in other communities, and Mrs. Brown will
prepare a memorandum on possible Town policy change to be sent
to other Town Boards. Town Counsel will be asked if surety can
be provided by current residents, to ensure sidewalk construction
in the future should need arise.
Mr. Briggs explained the proposal of Dr. Lucas to divide a 3 acre
tract at Bushnell Drive into two lots, for construction of an
additional house (which would have insufficient frontage) and a
driveway. The members were in general agreement that if Dr. Lucas
petitions the Bd. of Appeals for variance on frontage require-
ments, the Board would not oppose.
The TAMS plans for Bedford St. improvements were reviewed and
discussed. The Planning Director was instructed to prepare a
letter to the Board of Selectmen (for Dr. Clarke's approval),
reiterating the Planning Board position that a service road be
constructed to benefit the existing residence in the affected
area. Mr. Briggs will also provide the Selectmen with information
and documentation as to the specifics of the 200 foot setback re-
quirement on Bedford St.
