HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-12-261 J 1 PLANNING BOARD MEETING December 26, 1973 The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by the chairman Dr. Clarke with members L. Brown, S. Brown, Graham, planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in attendance was Frank Sandy, CLC. The meeting opened with discussion of wording and content of the Planning Board initiated RD rezoning article. RD ARTICLE The minutes of PlanningBoard meeting of December 10, 1973, were approved MINUTES 12/10 as written. Request from Harvey Duffy, Partridge Assoc., Dec. 19, 1973, for release PARTRIDGE of surety on Philip Rd., was read by the chairman. Mr. Duffy's previous ASSOC.DUFFY request (July'73) on the same matter, which inadvertently had not been BOND RELEASE responded to, was noted. Mr. Briggs will request Engineering Dept. review and recommendations on conditions at Philip Rd., and Mr. Duffy will be advised of forthcoming action on his request. Letter from Fred E. Sateriale, Sateriale & Prelack, Inc., dated Nov.27, 1973, requesting reduction of surety for Oak Park II subdivision, and Engineering Dept. itemized recommendation of amount necessary for com- pletion of work were reviewed. Consideration of reduction of collateral was deferred pending investigation of exact amount currently held by the Town, and conference with Mr. Sateriale on the matter of sidewalk in- stallation waiver and incomplete work items at the subdivision. Plans for the Douglass Office Bldg. (B/A F&D hearing, Jan. 8) were re- viewed. Prior similar petition (1970) was noted and Planning Board let- ter of recommendations at that time was read by the chairman. Following discussion of proposed contours and parking provisions, it was decided that the planning director will draft a letter recommending denial of the petition because of inadequate parking area. SATERIALE OAK PARK II BOND REDUC. DOUGLASS BLDG. B/AF&D1/8 Copy of a letter from Mr. Peter Martiniak, Waltham St., dated Dec. S, EXCESSIVE 1973, to the Lexington Housing Authority, complaining of excessive light-LIGHTING,L.H.A ing at Vynebrook Housing for the Elderly, was noted. VYNEBROOKE A letter from the Recreation Committee supporting land acquisition on HILLSIDE AVE "Hillside Avenue" was noted. The Board reaffirmed its position as statedLAND ACQUIS. in Mrs. Brown's memo of Oct. 17, 1973. Dr. Clarke reported on his conference with Chairman Kenney, Bd. of Sel. RAMP INSTALL. re the ramp installation Article initiated by Herbert Eisenberg, and ARTICLE understanding that the Selectmen willsubmit subject matter in the Article in combination with a similar proposal for general sidewalk con- struction. A letter confirming this conversation will be sent to Mr. Kenney. Page 2 12.26.73 Board of Appeals notices of January 8 hearings were noted. It was decided that no Planning Bd. action will be taken on any except the Douglass B/A NOTICES ' Office Bldg. petition. 1/8/74 Petition by all residents of. Lincoln St. to express opposition to the PETITION LIN_ construction of a sidewalk between Marrett Road and Middle St., was COLN ST. noted.
