April 2, 1973
The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was celled to order at
7:00 p.m, by the Vice Chairman Dr. Clarke with members S. Brown,
Graham, Costello, planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow
present. Also in attendance were T. Holzbog, DAC, and C. Waixel,
Lexington Minute Man.
Mark Moore, Chas. Spaulding, Wm. Kreutzjans, of Spaulding & Slye, DRUMMER BOY
Dick Rogers of Sasaki, Dawson & DeMay and Chas. Clarke, Boston Survey
Co. presented revised plans for the Drummer Boy condominium development.REVISED PLANS
Mr. Spaulding gave reasons for submission of the redesign and compared
the original with the revised plan as to number of units & density. A
layout plan was displayed and land to be given for conservation was
pointed out by Mr. Rogers. Pipeline and sewer easements were shown and
topography of the site discussed. Mr. Rogers reported on conference with
Mr. Nummi, DPW, re a proposed redesign at the intersection of Hartwell
Ave. and Bedford St. and elimination of the jughandle turn, and resultant
traffic patterns were discussed. Mr. Spaulding introduced Mr. Clarke who
showed a plan with proposed drainage plan and gave runoff calculations,
direction of flow and water storage area location. Mr. Rogers was asked
about plans for road connection with Grove St., timing of phases of develop-
ment, and change of point of access to the development from Winter St. The
developers will include an agreement to limit number of units to 150 in their
proposal. A memo from M. Freeman, S.D. & D., with respect to intersection
redesign was distributed to the members.
