HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-04-12PLANNING BOARD MEETING April 12, 1972 The meeting of the Lexington Planning Planning Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the chairman Mrs. Brown with members Clarke, S. Brown and Graham, planning director Zaleski and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Mr. K. Kreutziger, DAC, also attended. Mr. Kreutziger delivered a letter to the Board containing comments and DAC recommendations of the Design Advisory Committee on plans for proposed con- 10 MUZZEY ST. struction at #10 Muzzey St. (Samoylenko), which was noted by the members. Mr. Zaleski's draft of a letter from the Planning Board to the Board of Appeals regarding this proposal was reviewed and was approved as written. Copies of the DAC letter will be transmitted to the Appeals Board and to Mr. Herbert Eisenberg, architect for Mrs. Samoylenko. APPEALS Bord comments on the petition regarding houses at #17 Middle St. and #524 17 MIDDLE Marrett Rd. was reviewed and approved by the Board. 524 MARRETT Mr. Zaleski's draft of a letter to the Board of Appeals containing comments SIGN #703 of the Planning Board concerning petition of the Continental Trust to erect a MASS. AVE. sign at 703 Massachusetts Ave. was reviewed and approved by the members. Plans submitted by Harold Stevens, Esq. with application Form A72-11, showing FORM A72-11 land of Straw at 88 Hill St. was reviewed by the Planning Board. Upon a mot- 88 HILL ST. ion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: The plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", dated April 5, 1972, by Miller & Nylander, submitted by Harold Stevens, Esq. on April 11, 1972, showing land at 88 Hill St. requires no approval under the Subdivision Control Law. The plan was so endorsed by members of the Board. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: To go into executive session for discussion, the disclosure of which could EXEC. SESS. adversely affect the reputation of any person. Following discussion of correspondence with the Town Manager, it was voted to return to open session. Mr. William Page, chairman of the Harrington Seedling Forest Committee, and HARRINGTON Mrs. Frederick Frick, member of that committee, met with the Board to present SEEDLING to the members plans and guidleines for planting of 40,000 seedling trees in WM. PAGE Lexington. Locations in need of reforestation and screening were shown on a map and policy regarding maintenance explained. A 10 year program (see appen- dix) was distributed by Mr. Page who requested advice of the Planning Board on areas for planting which would be apt to remain undeveloped. Mr. Zaleski's memorandum dated April 10, 1972, House Bill 5009 (Revised Zoning H. 5009 Enabling Act),was noted and it was decided to table discussion until the ZONING meeting of April 24th, when Planning Board support of the bill will be ENABLING ' considered. Page 2 4/12/72 Mr. Zaleski reported on Mr. Costello's research regarding automatic data ADP RESEARCH ' processing service and stated the need for and benefits of such service in Lexington. The use of data processing service in Franklin, Sharon and Concord was noted. Plans will be made by the Board to confer with officials of the abovementioned towns to learn about their experiences with computer programming. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. C 4DonsaAIdM.
