HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-04-10D 1 D PLANNING BOARD MEETING April 10, 1972 The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the chairman, Mrs. Brown with members Clarke, Costello, Graham, S. Brown, planning director Zaleski and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Mr. Ken Kreutziger, DAC, and Mr. Tom Curran, Lexington Minute -Man also attended. Mr. Charles McDermott, Cape and Islands Financial Corp., met with the Board to IDYLWILDE submit definitive plans, revised July, 1971, for Idylwilde Farms subdivision. SUBDIVISION The plans, which were examined briefly and explained by Mr. McDermott, will be MC DERMOTT reviewed by the members prior to Mr. McDermott's April 24, 1972, appointment with the Board. Minutes of the Planning Board meeting of March 29, 1972, were approved. Minutes of the meeting of April 3, 1972, were approved as amended. Mr. and Mrs. Samoylenko, Mr. Herbert Eisenberg and Mr. Arthur Smith, archi- LEXINGTON tects, met with the Board to present plans for "Lexington Mews", a multiple MEWS occupancy building at #10 Muzzey St. The proposal was described by Mr. Eisen- SAMOYLENKO berg who exhibited plans and drawings and the multiple uses were presented by Mrs. Samoylenko, including a book shop, "Erewon" organic food store, "Bowl & Board" wooden ware and furniture shop, her own antique shop, basement cinema and 2nd floor French restaurant. The third floor studios would be occupied by craftsmen. Hearings before the Historic Districts Commission onApril 26,1972, and before the Appeals Board on April 18, 1972, are scheduled. Mr. Eisenberg asked for Planning Board support on Mrs. Samoylenko's request that a wire fence at the rear of the property at #10 Muzzey St. be removed to permit direct access from the parking lot. Sets of plans were left for the review of the Planning Board and of the DAC. A plan submitted by Paul W. Upon a motion duly made and CORP. seconded, it was VOTED: The plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", dated March 31,1972, by Joseph W. Moore Co., Inc. showing parcels "E" & "F" at Bedford St. to be added to other land of Lexington Indoor Tennis Club Corp. requires no approval under the Subdivision Control Law. The plan was so endorsed by members of the Board. Mr. Zaleski will prepare a draft of a letter to the Appeals Board for Planning Board consideration on April 12, 1972, stating this decision and pointing out a drafting error in the plans. It was decided, after review of the petition of Continental Trust,(McGee Floor- MC GEE ing) for a sign at #703 Mass. Ave., that a letter to the Board of Appeals is SIGN to be drafted by Mr. Zaleski, with specific recommendations of the Planning Page 2 4.10.72 ' Board regarding positioning and illumination of the proposed sign. The petition of Ralph Cataldo regarding construction of a steel storage CATALDO building on agricultural land at Bow St. was reviewed. The Planning Board STEEL questioned the basis for the petition, as it did not appear to require Board BLDG. of Appeals action under the Zoning By -Law. A letter will be prepared by Mr. Zaleski, reflecting recommendations as stated in the abovementioned memo of April 7, regarding the Samoylenko proposal at #10 Muzzey St., for review by the Board on April 12, 1972.
