September 8, 1971
' The meeting of the Lexington PlanningBoard was called to order at 7:40 p.m.
by the chairman, Mrs. Brown with memers Lund, Graham, Costello and Clarke,
planning director Zaleski, planning intern Fennessey and secretary Mrs. Snow
present. Also in attendance were Messrs. Frank Sandy of the C.L.C., Thomas
Curran of the Lexington Minute -Man and Donald Olson of the D.A.C.
The minutes of August 30, 1971, were approved as written.
Upon a motion duly made and seconded it was unanimously VOTED: EXTENSION
To extend to November 4, 1971, inclusive, the time for Planning Board IDYLWILDE
action on the definitive subdivision plan entitled "Idylwilde", dated
December 29, 1969, as requested in writing by the applicant, Trustee
of JoJen Realty Trust.

Upon a motion duly made and seconded it was voted to send the letter.
Mr. Lund abstained from voting.

eer, met with the Board by invitation at 8:00 p.m. Mr. McSweeney discussed RULES
revision of Subdivision Rules, the increasing number of cul-de-sacs and the
maintenance problems involved with them, street design standards, and the

width of streets in regard to safety factors and parking.
STREET DESIGN
Overdue subdivisions were reviewed and the status of each reported on by

Mr. McSweeney. Mr. Alfred Tropeano and Mr. Otis Brown, developers of two

of these subdivisions will be invited to meet with the Planning Board to
inform the Board of their plans regarding work to be completed.
The drainage situation and the question of acceptance of roads in
INGLESIDE
Ingleside subdivision was reviewed.
ACCEPTANCE OF
ROADS
Mr. McSweeney reported that the Assessors Maps requested by the Planning
Board are being worked on in the Engineering Department. The photogram-

metric maps will be available in a few weeks and will be reproducible.
Mr. Walter O'Connell and Mr. McSweeney will be invited to attend the

Mr. McSweeney and Mr. Martin left the meeting at 9:45 p.m.

LAND ACQUIS.
The proposed development by Mr. Michael Campanelli and its relationship M. CAMPANELLI
to the proposed Hartwell Ave.-Rte.128 connector road was discussed. A HARTWELL AVE.
' draft of a letter to Mr. Campanelli from the Planning Board inviting him CONNECTOR
to meet with the Board on Oct 6 to discuss the matter before revision of
his plans was approved and signed.
The preliminary draft of a report on Recreation Proposals by Mr. Fennessey
was reviewed by the members. The content and form of the report were RECREATION
critized at some length and Mr. Fennessey was thanked for his efforts. PROPOSALS
Mr. Zaleski offered to write an outline laying out an approach to Planning
Board recommendations for Recreation proposals to be made at future
Town Meetings.
The meeting adjourned at 11:00 p.m.
