June 14, 1971
' The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
by the chairman, Mrs. Brown with members Lund, Costello, Graham, planning
director Zaleski and secretary Mrs. Snow present.
The revised letter to Mr. Perkins, Minute Man Historical Park supervisor, MR. PERKINS
inviting him to meet with the Board on June 21st was approved and signed. BICENTENNIAL
A copy is to be sent to Mr. Kingston Howard with a post script inviting
him to attend this meeting.
The letter from the Planning Board to the building inspector regarding the VALLEYFIELD ST.
status of Valleyfield St. beyond #81, written in response to Mr. Irwin's
inquiry was discussed and approved by unanimous vote.
A letter from. the Town Engineer regarding Mr. Nicolai's request for bond BOND RELEASE
release on Heritage Acres subdivision was read. Upon a mots d duly made HERITAGE ACRES
and seconded it was unanimously VOTED:
The construction of ways and the installation of utilities to serve
lots 10, 11, 12, 24 and 25 in the Heritage Acres subdivision having
been completed to the satisfaction of the Planning Board, the Aetna
Casualty and Surety Co. bond dated June 21, 1968s in the penal sum of
$20,000, previously reduced to $3,000 is hereby released and the obli-
gations of the developer and the surety under the terms of said bond
and the agreement of the same date terminated.
It was unanimously voted by the Board to renew the subscription to the
"Planning Advisory Service" for the year beginning July, 1971.
The report on Art. 13.of the Warrant for the Special Town Meeting of REPORT,ART.13
June 14th was read. It was unanimously voted to approve this report and SPECIAL T.M.
it was signed by the members.
A plan submitted with Application Form A71-11 showing land at Concord Ave. FORM A71-11
was reviewed and upon a motion duly made and seconded it was VOTED: CONCORD AVE.
That the plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass." dated CONSERVATION
May 17,:1971 by Miller and Nylander, showing land of Ballou at
Concord Ave. to be acquired by the Town of Lexington for conserva-
tion does not require approval under the Subdivision Control Law.
It was agreed that an endorsement be added as follows: "Since lot B is to
be acquired for public purposes, the frontage of lot A shall not be deemed
to have been reduced in violation of the subsection 26.1 of Lexington
Zoning By -Law."
The plan was so endorsed by the members of the Board.
A plan submitted with Application Form A71-12 of land belonging to Teitel FORM A71-12
baum was reviewed and upon addition of a note to clarify the endorsement, TEITELBAUM
a motion was duly made and seconded and it was VOTED: CONSERVATION
That the plan entitled "Plan of land inLexington, Mass." dated May 14,
' 1971, by John J. Sullivan, RLS, showing land of Teitelbaum at Concord
Ave, to be acquired by the Town of Lexington for conservation does not
require approval under the Subdivision Control Law.
It was agreed to write to Mr. Sullivan requesting him to conform to the

requirements of the Rules and Regulations of the Planning Board and of
the Middlesex Registry of Deeds as to the form of plans submitted for
endorsement by the Board.
A letter was read from the Building Inspector to Mr. O'Connell concern- BILLBOARD
ing the billboard at 1351 Mass. Ave. on the Lexington -Arlington line. ARLINGTON/
This sign is largely in Lexington and Mr. Donahue, owner of the land and LEXINGTON LINE
sign, will be informed of the violation.
The decisions of the Board of Appeals on the following petitions were BOARD OF

All of the above mentioned were granted with conditions.
The petition of the John Sellars Co. was denied and the petitioner given
until Dec. 3, 1971 to discontinue the illegal use of his land.
The Board voted to approve the hiring of the planning intern, Mr. Thomas
Fennessey, for the summer months.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m. to enable the members to attend the
Special Town Meeting.
