March 2, 1970
' The regular meeting of the Planning Board was called to order in its
office on March 2, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Lund with members
Clarke, Graham, Fowle, Worrell and Planning Director Zaleski present.
The minutes of the February 23, 1970 meeting were approved. MINUTES APPROVED
Mr. Temple Scanlon, Lexington Housing Authority, met with the Board T. SCANLON, LHA
to discuss the tax title land off Waltham Street between Vine Brook RE. WINTHROP RD.
and Winthrop Rd. The layout and area required for housing for the TAX TITLE LAND
elderly, accesses and the possibility of a recreation area were
discussed. The chairman suggested Mr. Scanlon give the Board a
statement on what the Lexington Housing Authority proposes to do,
their plans for use of the area for buildings, drives and accesses.
Mr. Scanlon suggested the town convey the entire parcel to the
Lexington Housing Authority. There was discussion of the Lexington
Housing Authority returning to the town any part not used for elderly
housing to be used as conservation or recreation area.
The letter to the Board of Selectmen with recommendations regarding DOWNING RD.
the laying out of Downing Rd. from Marrett Rd. to Outlook Dr. as a LAYOUT APPROVED
public way was approved and signed.
No action was taken on the reduction of bond on Militia Dr. since MILITIA DR. BOND
comments from the Town Engineer had not been received. REDUCTION POSTPD.
The memorandum regarding the Town Meeting Members Associations bus TMMA BUS TOUR
tour on March 3 was noted and the Board members plan to be on buses MARCH 3
to speak on Planning Board article sites.

The prepared reports on articles on the Warrant for the 1970 Annual PL.BD. REPORTS
' Town Meeting were reviewed. Upon motions duly made and seconded, ON ARTICLES OF
the Board VOTED: WARRANT OF 1970
To approve the following articles reports as amended: ATM APPROVED
Articles 77-81, 93-97, 87-88, 899 90, 98, 85 (4-1 vote),
103.
The report on Article 103 was approved subject to review by the ARTICLE 103
chairman who had to leave the meeting before adjournment.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 p.m.
