January 5, 1970
' The Planning Boaid met for its regular meeting in its office on Monday,
January 5, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Lund opened the meeting with
members Fowle, Clarke, Graham, Worrell and Planning Director Zaleski
present.
The first item reviewed was Section VIII of the Housing Program which
was amended by the Board. After some discussion, it was decided to
delete Appendices C and D and amend Appendix E to list respondents only.
The Board decided to have 500 copies of the amended Housing Program
printed for distribution to Town Meeting Members and the public at the
hearing scheduled for January 15.

The minutes of the December 15 meeting were approved as amended. MINUTES APPROVED
The planning director reported the town engineer's comments, relative GROVE SUBDIV.
to the releasing of bond on the Grove subdivision, had not been received ACTION POSTPONED
so action on this matter was postponed.
The draft of the Planning Board's Policy Statement on Conservation PL.BD.'S POLICY
Restrictions was reviewed and revised by the members of the Board. Upon STATEMENT ON
a motion duly made, seconded, the Board VOTED: CONSERVATION
To approve the Planning Board's Policy Statement as amended and
furnish a copy to the Lexington Minute -Man for publication.
Next, the Board reviewed and amended the draft of a news release con- SUBSIDIZED
cerning an information meeting on subsidized housing to be held by Town HOUSING NEWS
Meeting Members Association in the Science Lecture Hall at the Senior High RELEASE
School on January 15.
The correction of faulty work in the Colonial Acres III subdivision was
discussed and it was decided to discuss this matter with the Board of
Selectmen during the Board's meeting with the Selectmen on January 19.
The petition of Cabot, Cabot & Forbes for a Board of Appeals special
permit to operate a computer school in the Dual Occupancy Building on
Hartwell Ave. was discussed next. The jWlanning director was asked to
info mtn the Board of Appeals that the Board is not opposed to this
petition if ample parking is provided.

Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Board VOTED: RELEASE OF LOTS
To release all lots in the Heritage Acres subdivision from the HERITAGE ACRES
restrictions of the Covenant, satisfactory surety for the construc-
tion of ways and utilities having been furnished by the developer.
The release of instruments was executed by the Board.

The planning director proposed that the petitioners for rezoning be asked
to submit maps showing the areas involved, a petition signed by 100 regis-
tered voters requesting the Planning Board to hold a public hearing and
also be informed they will be charged for advertising and hearing expenses.
This was agreed to by the Board.
The Board discussed the notices of the Board of Appeals hearings to be
held on January 13, 1970. The Board agreed upon expressing opposition to
the petition of the Friendly Ice Cream Corp. for a free-standing sign at
66 Bedford St. The Board also agreed to express opposition to the
petition of Nicola Anastasy to divide a lot at 187 Grove St. There was
no opposition expressed regarding the Harkness, Kelley and Domenico
petitions.
The minutes of the Conservation Commission meeting of December 29, 1969
were reviewed and placed on file.

MINUTES
The Board discussed the revisions of the Drummer Boy plans and decided to DRUMMER BOY
wait for comments from the town engineer before taking any action. ACTION POSTPND.
The letter from Historic Districts Commission, regarding the hearing
scheduled for January 7 on a proposed building at 19 Muzzey St., was
read by the chairman. Mr. Worrell agreed to attend the hearing as a
Planning Board representative. It was decided to send a copy of the
Commission's letter to the Town Counsel.
The Addendum to the Rules and ReguAAtions of the
Appeals for subsidized housing was reviewed and
except for Section 3, the discussion on which wa
January 12.
The meeting adjourned at 10:55 p.m.
