Meeting of the Planning Board in the Lexington Senior High
School was called to order by chairman Lund at 9:30 p.m.
with members Clarke, Fowle, Riffin, Worrell, planning director
Zaleski and Conservation Committee members Brown, Frick,
Mazerall and Totman present.
The Board discussed the need to define its position regarding
the rezoning for moderate income housing off Woburn Street
and to consider modifications of the layout. Mrs. Riffin
spoke generally in support of the proposed rezoning. Mr.
Lund mentioned the possibility of providing in the future of
a special zone for this type of housing. Mr. Clark and Mr.
Fowle discussed the need for revisions to provide a better
access. Mr. Fowle also suggested that the impact on overall
development, traffic and open space plans should be considered.

posal to Lexington probably outweigh the problems, even though
the rezoning would be of relatively small direct value of
relieving the crisis of the central city. It was agreed that
Mrs. Riffin would prepare a report draft for consideration by
the Planning Board.
