HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-09-09PLANNING BOARD MEETING September 9, 1968 The September 9, 1968 meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order in its office by the chairman, Mrs. Riffin, with members Clarke, Fowle and planning director Zaleski present. The minutes of the Board's meeting of August 12, 1968 were approved as previously corrected. Notices of Board of Appeals hearings on September 24, 1968 were reviewed next. Mr. Lund joined the meeting at this time (7:50 p.m.) The draft of letter to Mr. Levy relative to the pro- posed P.U.D. off Bryant Rd. was read and discussed. The discussion was postponed until after a meeting with repre- sentatives of the housing sub -committee of the Committee on Suburban Responsibility. Messrs. D. Graham, R. Earsy, Wartman and Nibbler met with the Board to explore the possibilities for the pro- vision of housing for moderate and low income families in ' Lexington. After an introductory statement by the chairman, Mr. Graham spoke on the requirements and need for a workable program. A general discussion of the workable program followed. Next discussed was the possibility of mixed new housing within the confines of one project. Mr. Worrell joined the meeting at this time (8:50 p.m.) After a general discussion of the Worthen Rd. in the Clematis Rd. subdivision the Board joined the Selectmen in their office to ask for the support of the Board of Selectmen in assuring a connection across the Bowman School land. Returning to their office, the Board resumed the review of the proposed letter regarding the P.U.D. off Bryant Rd. It was decided to revise the draft of the letter for distribution and review by the Planning Board, after a consultation with the Conservation Commission. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to endorse as not requiring approval under the subdivision control law the plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.," dated July 3, 1968, by Joseph Moore, RLS, showing land on Hancock St., submitted with Form A application /#68-22 by Joseph Moore. The notice of the annual meeting of the Mass. Federation of Planning Boards on October 5, 1968, was read and noted. The question of a study of zoning regulations governing nursing homes was discussed briefly. It was agreed that Mr. Fowle would arrange for meetings to hear pertinent testimony on this subject.
