HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-10-16PLANNING BOARD MEETING IOctober 16, 1967 A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was held in its office, Town Office Building, on Monday,- October 16, 1967. The meeting was called to order by vice-chairman Mrs. Riffin at 7:30 p.m. with members Fowle, Lund, Worrell, and Planning Director Zaleski present. Upon a motion duly made and seconded the Board unani- mously WOODBRIDGE WSTATES VOTED: To release from the restrictions of the covenant all (NICKERSON RD.) lots in the Woodbridge Estates (Nickerson Rd.) sub- division and to accept $15,000 bond as security for the OUTHET performance of all required work. The release instrument was executed. Minutes of Planning Board meeting of October 9, 1967 MINUTES were approved with minor amendments. At 8:00 p.m. the advertised public hearing on the Carol Lane subdivision off Bedford St. was declared open. CENTRE ESTATES ' The following interested residents attended the hearing: SEC. 1 -CAROL LA. William Jencks, Audrey W. Hildreth, Helen Sousa, William F. Hcar1Yt1 McBride, Sabatino Falcione, Rose M. Falcione, Marjorie E. McBride. Mrs. Riffin read the notice of the hearing as it had appeared in the Lexington Minute -man on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5, 1967, and Mr. Mark Moore, the applicant, described the pro- posed subdivision. Those in attendance asked questions re- garding the details of the proposal of Mr. Moore. Following a general discussion the hearing was declared closed at 8:30 p.m. Plan submitted with Form A #67-44, as follows, was reviewed by the Board. It was voted to endorse the plan with FORM A a supplementary notation "combining parcel 9B with Lot B." 467-44, submitted by Eric W. Johanson, Trustee; plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington -Mass.", dated Johanson Oct. 13, 1967 by Miller & Nylander, C.E.'s & Survey- ors. Mr. Fowle reported that the Selectmen will hold a pub- lic hearing on November 1, 1967 at 8:00 p.m. in Cary Hall to WORTHEN RD. discuss traffic projections for Worthen Rd. received from the HEARING State D.P.W. Members of the Board expressed their intention to attend the hearing. The Board approved unanimously the text of report to 10-16-67 -2- BOARD OF APPEALS the Board of Appeals on planned unit development of Buss's BUSA land off East St. subject to minor changes to improve read- ability. Plan submitted with Form A x/67-45, as follows, was FORM A reviewed by the Board and it was voted to endorse the plan as not requiring approval under the Subdivision Control Law. 467-45, submitted October 16, 1967 by Hartwell Ave. Hartwell Ave. Trust, Wilbur C. Nylander, Trustee; plan entitled "A Trust Subdivision of Land Court Case No. 31330 Land in Lex- ington, Mass.", dated Aug. 23, 1967 by Miller & Nylander, C.E.'s & Surveyors. Letters from the Selectmen and from Town Counsel REZONING PRO- relative to the Amendments to Zoning By -Law recommended by POSALS - some residents of Wheeler Rd. were taken up next. It was WHEELER RD. decided after a brief discussion to study Town Counsel's letter further before making recommendations for any change of zoning administration procedure. It was agreed to request the Town Engineer through the VERIFYING LOTS Selectmen to have his office verify that any lot for which a ELIGIBLE FOR permit to build has been applied had been released for build - BUILDING ing under the subdivision oontrol law while assigning the house number and adequacy of drainage, etc. The Board next met with the Conservation Commission CONSERVATION to discuss conservation and open space acquisition program. COMMISSION Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously voted to go into executive session for the purpose of dis- cussing matters the premature disclosure of which might adversely affect the financial interests of the Town. Follow- ing a discussion of land acquisition program the Board voted to resume open meeting. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Board VOTED: to extend the time for action on definitive subdivi- INGLESIDE sion plan of Carnegie P1., dated August 10, 1966 to (CARNEGIE PL.) and including November 21, 1967 inclusive, as re- quested by Mr. Spagnuola. Upon a motion duly made and seconded the Board VOTED: to extend to October 31, 1967 the time for Planning WOODSIDE ACRES Board action on the definitive subdivision plan of (CONESTOGA RD.) Conestoga Rd. (Woodside Acres) dated April 15, 1967 as requested by the applicant, Ernest E. Outhet. The Board decided to ask the Capital Expenditures Committee to postpone the October 23, 1967 meeting for one week. The meeting adjourned at 11• p.m. Evert N. Fowle Clerk 1 J
