A special meeting of the Lexington Planning Board
was held in its office, Town Office Building, on Thursday,
April 6, 1967. The meeting was called to order by Chair-
man Greeley at 7:30 p.m. with members Fowls, Lund, Riffin
and Worrell, and Planning Director Zaleski present.
Drafts of Articles A through M prepared by the
Planning Director were reviewed.
It was decided to substitute for Article A (re- ART. A
zoning of Wallis Ct. to C 1) an article requiring parking PARKING
on the lot in C 2 districts, except for districts in the
center adequately served by town parking lots.
Article B (funeral homes in R 1 subject to insti- ART. B
tutional requirements) was retained with the understand- FUNERAL HOMES
ing that funeral homes will only be permitted on major
streets in accordance with a list to be prepared by the
Planning Board.
Article C (rezoning of Seth land at Worthen Rd. ART. C
' to a combined CS -C4 district) was rejected; some members
of the Board recommending that the land be acquired for
town purposes and others favoring rezoning to apartments
as less inappropriate than C 4.
The Board decided to study Article D (Planned ART. D
Unit Development) at greater length.
Article E (consolidation of CS and C4 districts) ART. E
was rejected. The Board agreed to substitute an article CS -C4
which would provide less stringent area and frontage re-
quirements for CS districts.
On Article F (rezoning of Haney -Stevens, K of C, ART. F
etc. land) the Board adopted Mrs. Riffin's recommendation BEDFORD ST
that the front portion of this land be kept as C 1 and the
rear portion rezoned to CS.
Articles G, H, I, J, K, L and M were not discussed
in detail due to the lateness of the hour. Mr. Zaleski
gave brief explanation of Articles H, K and M. There be-
ing no objections, Articles G, H, I, J, K, L and M were
retained for insertion in the Warrant.
The meeting adjourned at 11:15 D.A.
