June 20, 1966
' A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board
was held on Monday, June 20, 1966 in the Board's office,
Town Office Building. The meeting was called to order at
7:30 p.m. by chairman Campbell with members Fowle, Greeley,
Riffin, Worrell and Planning Director Zaleski present.
Plans submitted with Form A applications, as fol-
lows were reviewed by members of the Board and endorsed as FORMS A
not requiring approval under the Subdivision Control Law:
9166-23, submitted June 10, 1966 by Raymond J. Garcia,
Agent; plan entitled "Land Court Plan of Land in Garcia
Lexington," dated May 7, 1966 by Joseph W. Moore,
Inc., Reg. Land Surveyor.
#66-24, submitted June 10, 1966 by Raymond J. Garcia,
Agent; plan entitled "Land Court Plan of Land in Garcia
Lexington,", dated Apr. 30, 1966 by Joseph W. Moore,
Inc., Reg. Land Surveyor.
9466-25, submitted June 10, 1966 by Joseph Busa, plan
entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", dated Busa

It was decided to discuss the petitions of CUNA, Scan-
lan and Kavanagh and Tillinghast at June 27 meeting. The Cowles
Planning Director will obtain additional information regard- Cuna
ing these petitions. The Board voted to prepare a letter to Scanlan
the Board of Appeals recommending that the permit to remove Tillinghast
topsoil by Mr. Cowles be postponed.pending the receipt of
subdivision plan for the Fuller's Hill land.

A copy of a letter from the Dept. of Natural Resources
' to Mr. Spagnuola drawing his attention to the provisions of SPAGNUOLA
Chapter 220 Acts of 1965 was received, read and discussed INGLESIDE
briefly. It applies to the Longfellow Rd, extension.

A bill from Partridge Associates for extra work '
BILL - in the Minute Man Highlands Sec. 4 subdivision in the amount of
PARTRIDGE $3,697.39 was reviewed by rhe Board. The bill was certified as
ASSOCIATES correct by the Supt. of Public Works and upon a motion duly
made and seconded the Board voted unanimously to recommend
to the Selectmen that the above amount be paid.
The bill for $100.00 for Planning Advisory Service
BILL - subscription for the period 7-1-1966 to 7-1-1967 was re-
ASPO viewed and approved for payment.
The purchase of Whipple Hill land for conservation
was discussed next. Mr. Fowle and Mrs. Riffin were recorded
WHIPPLE HILL in favor of the acquisition at the price of approximately
$3,000 per acre for 36 acres and using eminent domain if no
option can be obtained at this price. Messrs. Campbell and
Greeley were opposed to the purchase at the price stated,
particularly with the eminent domain clause, believing that
further negotiations may bring the price of land down. Mr.
Worrell felt that he would need more information in order to
reach a well-founded conclusion.
At 8:00 p.m. the meeting was adjourned in order to
attend the special town meeting.
