HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-09-28PLANNING BOARD MEETING ' September 28, 19611 A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was held in its office on September 28, 1964. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Campbell at 8:00 p.m. with members Greeley and Riffin, and planning director Zaleski present. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hagedorn, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hudson, COUNTRYSIDE - and Mr. Mitchell met with the Board regarding the traffic at LACONIA ST. Countryside and the location of Laconia St. Mr. Bryson came in and took over the chair at 8:05. Mr. Carroll, Town Engineer, came in at 8:05. Mr. Greeley stated that in his opinion Emerson Rd. would be built before the new schools and Burlington shopping center become operational. Mr. Carroll said that Laconia St. is a private way. Chairman Meyer came in and took the chair at 8:15 p.m. and a discussion followed regard- ing the legal status and ownership of the Laconia St. exits to Woburn St. and Lowell St. and the various ways of improving traf- fic situation. Mr. Meyer suggested that citizens may petition for rezoning. Next, the Capital Expenditures Committee met with the CAPITAL EX - Board to discuss long-range planning program. (Boughten, Hindle, PENDITURES Mrs. Rawls, Longley, Chapin present.)COMMITTEE Minutes of September 21, 19611 were read and approved with MINUTES corrections. The public hearing on Hadley Rd. was scheduled for Oct. HADLEY RD. - 19, 1964. BEARING Plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", Joseph W. Moore, Inc., Reg. Land Surveyor, dated Sept. 28, 1964 and FORM A submitted by Raymond J. Garcia for Alfred Busa, was reviewed by - members of the Board and upon a motion duly made and seconded it BUSA was voted that this plan requires approval under the subdivision control law since not all land of the applicant is indicated to have the required frontage under Lexington Zoning By -Law. Upon a motion duly made, and seconded, it was unanimously TILLINGHAST VOTED: to extend the time for Planning Board action on Tilling- ESTATES hast Estates, Sec. 2 (Juniper Place) to and including - October 13, 1964 as requested in writing by the owner, SULLIVAN William H. Sullivan. ' Capital expenditures budget request was noted. Mr. Crafts' letter re: Shea land on Mass. Ave. was read 9-28-64 -2- SHEA LAND - and the planning director requested to reply in the affirmative CRAFTS on his first question and in the negative on the second. Notice of meeting of the Federation of Planning Boards ' was read and noted. PINEWOOD Sec. Gerald Shirley's request for release of Lot 42 Dewey Rd. 1 - SHIRLEY was read and it was decided to request the town counsel to pre- pare the necessary documents for the next Planning Board meeting. Mr. Kolovson's letter of thanks following the meeting with the Planning Board was read and noted. The notices of Board of Appeals hearings on the follow - BOARD OF ing applications were read and noted: APPEALS Colonial Contractors Robert F. Strong Arthur J. Schramm George Morey Jr. Harvey W. Newgent It was decided to object to Harvey Newgent's petition for Newgent division of lots at Augustus Rd. and Reed St. on basis of lots being too small. Minutes of Selectmen's meeting of Sept. 14 were read and noted. SPECIAL TOWN Articles for special town meeting were discussed and , MEETING final wordings decided upon.
