A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning
Board was held in the Board's office, Town Office
Building, on Ju11r 25, 1961 at 7:30 n.m. present
were Chairman Soule, Members Bryson and Grindle,
and ?Tanning Pirector Snow.
The Board annroved for nayment the following
bills wlhi_ch had been presented: 'Jesley J. Rwell, BILLS
drafting services Julv 13 through Julv 21, 75.00,
car allowance, '42.00; Samuel P. Snow, car allowance

The Board's attention was called to Town
Counsel Stevens' letter of Jul,T 21 transmitting
conies of i_nstrunents wherein Antonio Busa granted
to the Town sewer, water and drain easements and
utilities in the :Teen Valley, Section 5 subdivi-
sion. All matters arnearirg to be in order, upon
motion duly made and seconded,it was unanimously

as Pri.ncinal, and Aetna Tnsurance Company,
as Surety, in the sum of Twenty -twee
thousand five hundred 023,500.00) dollars
to secure the performance by the subdi-
vider of his agreement in the form of an
application for approval of a definitive
plan, Form C, dated November 23, 1959, to
complete the work to be nerformed by the
subdivider as shown on the subdivision
plan entitled "Green Valley "ect.on Five
Lexinr^ton, Mass.", and dated August 6, 1959.
Considered also were the notices of peti-
BOARD OF tions to be heard by the Boars of Appeals on August
APPEALS 8, 1961. It was decided to take no action in re-
gard to said petitions.
At 5:10 to 5:25 n.m. Mr. Harvey W. Newgent
NT7TG77 met with the Board to rresent a nronosal for sub-
dividing land involving a parcel of land bounded
by the rear of lots fronting_ on Shade and Middle
Streets and Cary Avenue and portions of some of
said lots. He exhibited a.nrelimi.nary untitled
subdivision nian, one of several studies he had
made of the area described above, and requested
that the Board give him an approval of a dead-end
street approximately 1200 feet in length. The
Planning Board took the matter under advisement
and later in the meeting decided that it would not
approve of Mr. Yewgent's nronosal for such a long
dead-end street. Mr. Soule was asked to inform Mr.
Newgent of the Board's decision and also to sug-
gest to Mr. Newgent that he complete his other
studies of the area for consideration by the Board.
Considered next was a nrint entitled "Plan
GRPEN VALLEY of Pronosed Lotting of Green Valley Section Seven
S?~C. 7 Lexin^7ton, Mass.", dated July 20, 1961, which Mr.
Antonio Busa had filed with the Board with a re-

gard to said nlan. Tt was noted that Section
Seven of the Green Valletr development was to be an
extension of Circle Road from the end of the "paper"
portion of said road to Lillian Road, the distance
being annroxi_mately 1060 feet from the nearest
access, namel,-, Anthony Road. Tt w as decided that
the Board would not annrove the extension of said
develorment until a second means of access was nro-
vided by constructing existing: Circle Road from i.ts
present terminus to Hillcrest Avenue.
The Board reviewed the draft of a letter to

From 9:00 n.m. to 10:05 the Planning Board
met with the Board of Selectmen and representa- BOARD OF

at the conclusion of its meeting with the Board

In reol'T to lour letter of June 30, the planning; Board is
unr'ertakinm a comrlete stud* of Lexinmton's general business
district including such matters as extensions, uses, regula-
tions and narkin(*. Until the study is comnleted, tre Board
does not contemplate recommending additions to existing C 2
cistricts.
