HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-10-03I PLANNING BOARD MEETING October 3, 1960 A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was held on Monday, October 3, 1960 at 7:30 p.m. in the Board's office, Town Office Building. Present were Chairman Burnell and members Grindle, Meyer and Soule. Considered first were the notices of hear- ings to be held by the Historic Districts Commis- HISTORIC sion on October 5, 1060. Considered next were not,ces of petitions to be heard by the Board of Appeals on October 11 and BOARD OF 18, 1960. It was decided to take no action in re- APPEALS gard to said petitions with the possible exception of those of Corazzini, Ehlers and Hamilton. The Board requested the Chairman to obtain further in- formation in regard to the petitions named. ' At the request of the Board Mr. Donald N. Sleeper, Jr., attorney for Kingston Homes, Inc., KINGSTON and Mr.Carroll, Supt. of Public Works, met with HOMES, INC. the Board to discuss the preliminary plan for the PRELIMINARY subdivision of the former Higgins land owned by PLAN said corporation and situated northerly of Maple Street and the Boston and Maine railroad tracks. (See minutes of May 25, 1959 Planning Board meet- ing.) After a discussion of the overall design of the subdivision and the engineering problems involved Mr. Sleeper agreed to withdraw the appli- cation (see addendum) with the understanding that Mr. Snow would assist representatives of Kingston Homes, Inc. with a nlan which would be acceptable to the Planning Board. It was further understood that Mr. Sleeper would attempt to solve additional problems In regard to locations and easements for drains and sewers in and leading from the subdivi- sion. The attention of the Board was called to a HA?aTHORNE ACRES copy of the Town Counsel's letter of Sept. 27, LAND FOR 1960 to the Town Clerk and the conformed copy for RECREATION the Board of the option instrument executed by PURPOSES ' Kingston Homes on Sept. 26, 1960.
