HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-03-29PLANNING BOARD MEFTT_I%TG ' March 291 1960 A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was held in the office of the Board, Town Office Building, on Tuesday, March 29, 1960 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Chairman Burnell, Members Grindle, Meyer and Soule, and Planning Director Snow. The Board abn_roved the minutes of its March MINUTES 21, 1960 meeting. Also approved were the following bills which had been presented for payment: Wallace B. Mitchell BILLS Co., drafting supplies --$1.55; Spaulding -Moss, drafting supplies -46.70; Samuel P. Snow, car allow- ance for March -420.00 With reference to application from George Avadanian for approval of subdivision plan entitled GLEN ESTATES "Glen Estates Lexington, Mass.", and dated November - 4, 1959, the attention of the Board was called to AVADANIAN Mr. Stevens' letter of March 25, 1960 enclosing a performance guarantee in the form of a conformed con-�r of a covenant duly executed by George Avadanian and h.is wife. Also noted was a letter dated March 29, 1960, from the Board of Health, giving condi- tional annroval of said subdivision. All matters appearing to be in order, upon motion duly made and seconded it was unanimously VOTED: that the definitive subdivision plan entitled "Glen Estates Lexington, Mass.`t, dated Novem- ber 4, 1959s which was submitted to the Board by George Avadanian on February 1, 19601. accompanied by an application for anproval of definitive plan, Form C, dated Jan. 29, 1960, be and hereby is approved subject to the con- dition that no building or structures shall be built or placed upon lots 62 10, 11, 182 21, 28, and 29 without consent by the Lexing- ton Board of Health. The Board endorsed the Cedar Glen definitive subdivision elan, no appeal having been taken within CEDAR GLEN the period since notice of the Board T s approval of said plan had been filed with the Town Clerk. He said that the follow - DISTRICT ing day he proposed to file said plans with the SITE PLAN Board of Appeals. The plans were taken under advise- ' ment. COLE In regard to said plans and others which, have been submitted for garden apartment districts, the question was raised as to how ,yard regula tions under Sec. 8 (f) l.a.(2) of the Zoning By-law should be interpreted. It was decided to ask the Town Counsel for a written ruling in regard to said regulations, Mr. Snow being asked to orenare for the Board's consideration at its next meeting a draft of a letter asking for such an interpretation. After a general discussion of current matters before the Board, it adjourned its meeting at 9:15 p.m. ``G Burnell Chairman 1 wherein said Corporation granted to the Town ease- ments within said subdivision. Read to the Board was a notice of the Annual M.F.P.B. Spring Conference of the Mass. Federation of plan - MEETING nng Boards to be held April 2, 1960 in ?lorcester. Messrs. Burnell and Snow said thev would attend the conference as representatives of the Board. Read to the Board was a letter dated March MIDDLE 28, 1960, from Mr. Sevmour Goldberg of 46 Turning RIDGE Mill Road in regard to conditions on said road in SEC. 2 the Middle Ridge, Sec. 2 subdivision. Mr. Snow - called to the Board's attention conies of recent TECHBUILT correspondence between the subdivider, Techbuilt, Inc., and Mr. Carroll, Lexington's Superintendent of Public ?,forks, in regard to said conditions. At the same time a report was received from the Superintendent of Public Works in re- gard to conditions on Turning Mill Road and efforts he has made to have the required work in the Middle Ridge, Section Two subdivision completed to his satisfaction. For your in- formation conies of some of the more recent correspondence between the subdivider, Techbuilt, Inc., and Mr. Carroll, said superintendent. You may be assured that we are all very much concerned about the situation in this subdivision and that every effort will be. made to have the required work com- pleted satisfactorily this spring.
