March 22, 1960.
A regular meeting of the Lexin7ton Planning
Board was held on Tuesdav, March 22, 1960 at 7:40
p.m, in the Planning Boardts office, Town Office
Building. Present were Chairman Burnell, Members
Grindle, Nabee and Mever, and Planning Director
Snow.
Considered first by the Board was Mr. Reen-
stiernats March 3, 1960 letter and its accompany-

The planning Board approved the minutes of

Anproved also were the following bills which
had been presented for payment: Snauldin -Moss Co.,

printing of maps and drafting sunnlies--38.69; Joan
C. TMacDonald, assembling and binding zoning by-

Considered next by the Board were the fol-

Var'ous members of the Board pointed out that
in connection with such a unit there would be heavy
trucking; involved and for this reason the building
would have to be located on a main street. Mr. Stevens
said that he had discussed the matter with the Select- '
men and believed that the Planning Board would want to

quire approval under the Subdivision Control

With reference to the petitions to be heard

was decided to take no action i.n regard to said

Reviewed next by the Board was the action

interest and which were to be considered at the next
adjourned town meeting. From 9:25 to 10:15 p.m. Mr.
Stevens attended the Planning Board meeting and
entered into discussion in regard to said articles
and other matters currently before the board.
Mrs Stevens reported that from the Adjutant

the requirement being that the Town must furnish the
land for such an armory; teat Washington desired a
building site 5-10 acres in size while the Adjutant
General believed 3-1. acres to be the minimum; that
It was -oronosed to erect a building somewhat similar
to tlhat constructed on Concord Avenue In Cambridge,
and that an artillery unit presently located at the
Commonwealth Armory would be available immediately
to move into a Lexington armory*. Mr. Stevens also
reported that the General believed that the advan-
tages of having an armory located in Lexington would
be that the building would be available for municipal
activities and that the unit would be available to
the town in case of various town emergencies.

ADDENDUM

Dear Mr. Reenstierna:
The Planning Board anpreciated the opportunity of dis-
cussing with Irou at its meeting on March 22 ,your letter
of March 3, 1060 and its accompanving site plan dated
February 290 1960. It is the Board's understanding that
Iron are going to have prepared for its further considera-
tion a new site plan for the Waltbam Street Garden Apart-
ment district. It is further understood that said plan
will show the lane and building locations substantially
as shown on the Board's site plan studv of December 10,
1959 and Mr. Manaselian's study of December 283 1959 but
that the narking areas abutting the pavement on the inside
of Cant. Parker Lane are to be eliminated and a new nark-
ing area located southerly of the building restriction
line adjacent to the southerly side of said lane.
