PLANNING BOARD METING
February 19,1959
A special meeting of the Lexington Planning
Board was held in the Town Engineer's Office, Town
Office Building, on Thursday, February 19, 1959 at 7:30
p.m. Present were Chairman Grindle, Members Abbott,
Jaquith and Soule.
The purpose of the meeting was to give final
consideration and action on the application for approval
of the Lowell.Estates definitive subdivision plan. It
was reported that after the conference the Board had
held on February 17, 1959 with Messrs. George J. and
John S. DeVries and their attorney, Eugene L. Tougas,
and that Mr. George DeVries had telephoned Mr. Jaquith
and informed him that the Board's modified plan as
discussed at said conference was acceptable to the
above named DeVries brothers. Thereupon, upon motion
duly made and seconded, it was unanimously
VOTED: That the definitive sub divisionlam entitled
"Lowell Estates Lexington, Mass. , dated Decem-
ber 1, 1958j- which was submitted to the Board
by George J. DeVries and John S. DeVries d/b/a
Lexington Development Company, on December 23,
1958, be and hereby is modified as follows:
1. "A" Street is relocated as shown on plan
prepared by the Planning Board entitled "Modi-
fication of Subdivision Plan Entitled 'Lowell
Estates'", dated February 16, 1959;
2. "B" Street is terminated northwest.of the
southeasterly property line and a temporary
turnaround added all as shown on said modifi-
cation plan;
3. "Cee Street is relocated and made to terminate
at'"A" Street as shown on said modification plan;
and
4. A new street shown as "D" Street on said
modification plan is added and substituted for
the portion of "C" Street that was located
easterly of "A" Street on the subdivision plan
as submitted;
' and as so modified, said definitive subdivision
plan be and hereby is approved subject to the
following conditions:

1. That a bituminous concrete sidewalk five
(5) feet wide be constructed according to the
current specifications of the Lexington De-
partment of Public Works along the entire
length of the westerly and northwesterly side
of A" Street, along the northeasterly and
northwesterly side of "B" Street from "A" Street
to "C" Street and along both sides of "C" Street
from "A" Street to Maple Street, and
2. That the land comprising the following lots
shown upon the definitive subdivision plan as
submitted to the Planning Board shall not be
built upon without prior approval of the Lex-
ington Board of Health, namel7, lots numbered
103, 106-1131 inclusive, 117-119, inclusive,
122-128, inclusive, and 143-146, inclusive.
There being no further business to transact the
meeting was adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
