A regular meeting of the Lexi=ton Planning Board
was held in the Town Lhg neer's Room, Town Office
Building on Monda?-, January 6, 1958 at 8:00 p.m. Present
were Chairman Grindle, Members Abbott, Burnell, Jaquith
and 'oule. Town Counsel Stevens was present from 9:30
to Q fl15 p.m.
The minutes of the January 2, 1958 meeting were MINUTES
approved.
The Board received a letter, dated December 14, SCHOOL &
19571 from the Recreation Committee recommending that RECREATION
the Planning Board try to acquire options for several AREAS
recreation sites to be located in general areas sug-
gested in said letter. It was decided to arrange for
a joint meeting with the Recreation and Elementary
School Sites Committees on January 2C, 1958 to discuss
future school sites ane recreation areas anc that recom-
mendations be proposed by each of the three agencies.
The Chairman was authorized to send to the Select- TOWN
' men a list of proposed sites for future town dumps. DUMP
(See addendum.)
Mr. Jaquith r e -ported on sug.--ested changes in zon- REGIONAL
in,-- by-laws for proposed Filene's Shopping Center as SHOPPING
recommended by Filene's attorney, ??obert Vance Brown. CENTER
There was a ;Teneral discussion of the Board's
current projects wh'_ch should be given further study
and which should. be concluded, if possible, in the

At 9:30 p.m. Town Counsel Stevens came to the STREET

After Mr. Stevens left the meeting, Mr. Mark

Moore, Jr. met with the Bo!�rd in regard to plans for

the subdivision of the former Burnham farm and: the
Board's proposal for a recreational area along Vine

Brook and adjacent to the North Street gravel pit. Mr..
Moore said that the land the Board wished to recommend

to the town for acquisition as a recreation area in -

volved the house at 113 North St and seven or eight

potential house lots which he valued at $2000 each. He
said he might consider exchanging this land and construct-
ing the proposed extension of Emerson Road to East Street
in exchange for a town -built bridge over `Dine Brook but
that he would not consider including in any such agree-
ment the house numbered 113 North Street unless compen-
sated for said house. Mr. Moore left the meeting at
10:30 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at 10:40 n.m.

tions as possible sites for future town dumps:
1. The Massimilla land off Bartlett St, and Lowell St.
2. The sand nit at end of Utica St, formerly maintained
by Rupert Stevens
3. A section of land off.Lowell St. and North St, rear
of John E. Allen & Co.,Inc.
