HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-07-241 1 1 PLANNING BOARD MEETING July 24, 1957 A special meeting of the Planning Board was held in the Toi�:7n Engineer's Room, Town Office Building, on LJed.nesday evening, July 24, 1957 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Chairman Grindle and. Diembers Jaquith and Burnell. The Board took under consideration the applica- tion for definitive approval of the Hawthorne Acres lection 1 definitive plan. 11r. Jaquith reported his conversation with Tom Counsel Stevens in which the latter said that Esco Builders Corp. were not able to submit a bond at t'is time but planned to do so within a week. The 45 -day period in which the Planning Board must act having expired, it was moved by Mr. Burnell, seconded by Ir. Jaquith and unanimously VOTED: that the definitive subdivision plan en- titled "Hawthorne Acres Section One Lexington, ass.", dated Iviay 29, 1957, submitted to the Board on June 10, 1957; accompanied by an application for approval of a definitive plan, Form C, dated June 6, 1957, be disapproved for the reason that the applicant has not submitted a bond in accordance -•..,a th the Lexington_ subdivision rules and regulations. The Board next took under consideration the appli- cation for aprroval of the Peacock earms Section 5 definitive plan. The 3oard having received the Assump- tion of Obligations by the subsequent owner of this property :end a bond having; been filed conditioned on the completion of all required improvements in said subdivision, and all other matters appearing to be in order, it fTas moved by lir. Jaquith, seconded by Mr. Burnell and unanimously HAS^JTHORNE ACRES SEC. 1 VOTED: that a Definitive subdivision plan entitled "Peacock f arms Section 5, Lexin —ton -I -:ass. dated June 11, 1957, having been submitted to the 9card by Edward Green and H. S. B. White on June 24, 1957, accompanied by an application for approval of definitive plan, r'orm C, dated June 17, 1957, and subsequent thereto all the lands within the subdivision having been acquired by A. Morris Kobrick as Trustee of Lucky Penny Trust and also as Trustee of Beryl -Robert Trust by deed re- corded in Middlesex South Registry of Deeds on July 12, 1957 as Instrument No. 128, and said A. Icrris Kobrick having assumed all PEACCCK iARMS SEC. 5 obligations of the applicant, b e and hereby ' is approved. BATTLE VIEW The Board endorsed the Battle View Park Section 2 PARK definitive subdivision plan, the 20 -day appeal period SEC. 2 having expired after approval of the plan. It was the opinion of those present that the first matter for the Board to decide is whether or not it wishes to take the initiative in bringing the proposal before the citizens again. It was thourtht that if the Board decided to take the initiative in tis matter, that the Board's first move would be to arrange a meeting; with officials of the State Department of Public Works to determine if it is possible to secure any definite decision regard- ing the use of Rts. 2 and 128 for entrances or exits to the proposed site of the shopping conter. It was decided to ask members of the Board of Selectmen to be present at such meeting if it is held. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 n.m. Levi G. Burnell, Jr. Clerk
