pe: Petition of Murray Sloane
Maintenance of Existing Signs
Gentlemen:
For some time the Planning Board has been concerned
with what appears to be an increasing number of vio-
lations of Section 6 (f) of the Lexington's Zoning
12-1Q-56
The Planning Board feels that these signs are out of
keeping with the standards Lexinr.ton is trying to main-
tain in regard to signs. The Board sees no reason for
larger signs in the location referred to in the petition
than are allowed for real estate signs in other parts of
town. The Planning Do. -rd, therefore, wishes to be re-
corded as beinv opposed to the granting of the variance
requested.

Maintenance of Existing Sign
Gentleren:
For some time the planning Board has been concerned with
what appears to be an increasing number of violations of
Section 6 (f) of Lexington's Zonirg Bq -Laws in regard to
the erection and maintenance of real estate signs adver-
tising the sale of the premises in residential districts.
Accordingly, after asking a representative to check on its
observations, the Boa -,d brought this information to the
attention of the Building Inspector. One of its observa-
tions had. to do with the sign for which the petitioner re-
ferred to above is seeking a variance. This sign reading
"For Information call R. M. Bradley a. Co.,Inc.", etc.,
measures 1t_' -1"x6', not including the mounting.
By -Laws in regard to the erection and maintenance of
real estate signs advertising the sale of the premises
in residential districts. Accordingly, after asking a
representative to check on its observations, the Board
brought this information to the attention of the Build-
ing Inspector. One of its observations had to do with
the two signs for which the petitioner referred to
above is seeking a variance. These signs reading "For
Sale Martin Cerel, Realtor," etc., measure 5'-6" x 9'
not including their mountings. Including the latter,
the sign on the corner of Route 2 and Route 128 meas-
ures about 11 feet high.
