Minute Man Highlands
Mr. James A. Carrig, Mr. Robert Carrig and Mr. Nylander appeared
with the plan of MinuteMan Highlands, Section IV, which had been borrowed
as noted in the minutes of July 5, 1955. Mr. James Carrig stated that this
plan originally showed a 40 -foot road leading off Pleasant Street, that at
the Planning Board's request he had changed the 40 -foot road to one of 70 -
foot width in viewof the Town's proposal for a qja*or road passing through
his subdivision, but that he had waited until such time as the Town voted
favorably upon the major road before doing anything further with his plans
for Section IV. Mr. Carrig further stated that Mr. Adams had asked him if
he would donate the right of way for a 70 -foot road to which he had replied
that he would donate the land if the Town would build the road. Mr. Carrig
said that he had had no reply to this offer and'that he now wished to place
the plan on record, although he did not intend to develop the subdivision
at present.
When asked if he would go through the regular procedure of signing
the usual subdivision agreement with the Board, Mr. Carrig replied that be
wanted an agreement with the Town whereby it would build the road, other-
wise he wanted the Town to take by eminent domain what it needed for its
proposed road. He stated that he felt the present plans met all require-
ments of the Board and said that Whitman and Howard had prepared a report
on the suitability of the land for local sewage disposal. it was pointed
out,'however, that the Planning Board had received no report from the
Board of Health in regard to Section IV.
Mr. Jaquith asked if the Board approved the plan showing, as was
drawn, the 70 -foot road access to Pleasant Street and it subsequently be-
came advisable to change the location of the access to Pleasant Street be-
cause of changes by the State on Cambridge -Concord Highway, would Mr. Carrig
agree to make changes in his subdivision plan to meet the new conditions.
Mr. Carrig replied that in regard to the 70 -foot road he would be willing to
do anything of this nature which the Town should desire and which would
facilitate the disposition of this land.
An appointment was made with Mr. Carrig for 8:30 on Monday evening,
August 8, in order that further study might be made of the subdivision
plans and that agreements might be prepared for signatures.
