HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-06-06 PLANNING BOARD MEETING Monday, June 6, 1955 Present: Adams - Abbott, Grille, Irvin, Jaquith - Snow Meeting opened at 7:30 o'clock. The records of May 23 and June 1 were approved. Hearin - DeVries Construction Co. A public hearing was held at 7:45 o'clock relative to the applica- tion for approval as a subdivision the property of DeYries Construction Co. known as "Section VII of Sun Valley", and more particularly described as an extension of Fairlawn Avenue approximately 981 feet. No one was present to sepak either for or against the approval of the subdivision. Hearing - Spinelli A public hearing was held at 8:00 o'clock relative to the applica- tion for approval as a subdivision the property of Anne and Joseph Spinelli known as Cary Acres, Section 2, an extension of Fairbanks road in north- easterly and northwesterly direction about 996 feet, and an unnamed street running northeasterly from Fairbanks Road for a distance of about ]1455 ft. to within 1400 feet of Marrett Road. Mr. Tropeano and Mr. Spinelli were present for the petitioner. Eight other citizens were also present. Bear- ' ing closed at 8:15 o'clock. Baker, secretarial service May 2, 9, 16, 23, $20, 1 box onionskin $2.50, 1 box carbon $3.50. Moved by Mr. Irwin, seconded by Mr. Grindle and unani- mously voted that the bills be paid. Baskin Mr. Snow stated that Mr. Baskin had offered to the Town for recrea- tional purposes about four acres of land located between Route 128 and Williams Road. The Board was receptive to this offer but wished first to see about access. It was suggested that the Recreation Committee be con- tacted to see if something can be worked out. Form, No. 55-49, submitted on Jane 6 by the Town of Lexington, Harold 8. Stevens, Town Counsel, tracing entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.," scale 1" - 140', dated May 23, 1955, William M. Burns, Town Engineer. Moved by Mr. Irwin, seconded by Mr. Grindle and unanimously VOTED: the above plan be signed bearing the endorsement, "Lex- ington Planning Board approval not required under sub- division control law." Town Warrant With regard to articles appearing on the town warrant, the Plan- ning Board approved in general the proposed new road running from Bedford St. to Mass. Ave. at Lincoln St. With reference to the new municipal parking area, a definite opinion cannot be given until the report of the appraiser has been studied. Street Names The following names for new streets were suggested: DeVries Construction Co. - Blueberry Lane and Tyler Road Spinelli (Cary Acres) - Tufts Road Further discussion followed on the future master plan, and the meeting adjourned at 10:30 o'clock.
