HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-01-24PLANNING BOARD MEETING Monday, January 24, 1955 Present: Adams, Grindle, Hathaway, Irwin, Jaquith, Ripley - Snow, Stevens. Meeting opened at 7;50 o'clock. Record of the previous meeting was read and approved. Bill Spaulding Moss, bromide magnagraf and two topographical maps of the Town of Lexington, $18.85. Unanimously voted the bill be paid. New Roads Letter read from the Board of Selectmen advising that they were pre- senting to the annual town meeting in March, the recommendation that the following streets be constructed: Bertwell Road (Simonds Rd. to Fuller Rd.); Bridge St. (Marrett Rd. to Valleyfield St.); Fuller Road (Harding Rd. to Bertwell Rd.); Crosby Road (to new Maria Hastings School); Sherburne Road; Hayes Ave. (Woodland Rd. to Merriam St.). The Planning Board was in favor of these roads being oonstructed with the exception of Crosby Road, over which there was considerable discussion, ' and action was held over until a future meeting. DeVries Construction Co. r Mr. George DeVries appeared for DeVries Construction Co. in regard to the filing of Form A, Winchester Drive, Sun Valley. There were some sugges- tions as to changes and Mr. DeVries is to bring the plan back at the next meeting. Mr. DeVries also appeared in regard to an application for definitive approval of Sun Valley, Section.IV, plan dated January 21, 1955, Kenneth B. Oates, C.E. It was decided that on this plan, a piece of land marked "Way" to be used as entrance to back land, is to be left open so that it becomes a part of this back land. Since the necessary papers accompanying Form C were in order, it was moved by Mr. Grindle, segonded by Mr. Irwin and unanimously VOTED: that definitive hearing on Sun Valley, Section IV, be set for Monday, February 7, at 8 p.m. Form A presented by Gardner Cushman,.Max Goldstein, Kendall L. Johnson - Co - administrators of the Estate of Toros H. Bashian - "A Compiled Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", scale 1" - 1001, dated March 22, 19543 Miller & Ny- lander, C.E.s and Surveyors. It was moved by Mr. Grindle, seconded by Mr. Irwin and unanimously voted that the plan be signed bearing endorsement "Approval of Lexington Planning Board not required under subdivision control law." cc - Q Techbuilt Homes, Inc. On motion of Mr. Irwin, seconded by Mr. Jaquith it was unanimously ' VOTED: that subdivision agreement with Techbuilt Hames, Inc., to accompany plan of land in Lexington, Mass., owned by James A Carrig, dated October 30, 1953, be signed. McConchie On motion of Mr. 0rindle, seconded by Mr. Ripley, it was unanimously VOTED: that the preliminary subdivision plan of Robinson Hill, Sec- tion II, be approved subject to minor changes indicated on proposed profiles. Mr. Haskell Reed of the Board of Selectmen stated that the Board of Selectmen were unanimously in favor of having the request of Reiss Asso- ciates for a change of,zoning of land at Westview St. and Hinchey Road from R-1 to M-1 inserted in the warrant. They were also unanimously in favor of the 70 ft. road which .would run from -the Fire Station on Bedford St. to Hastings Park. Since the regular meetings of the Planning Board have been so filled with routine business,.there has been no time for. -serious consideration of the Master Plan.
