Bill
Bill presented by Spaulding -Moss Co., 1 M Town of Lexington Zoning
Map, $29.15. Unanimously voted the bill be paid.
HEARING - DIANNE ESTATES
Public hearing held at 8 o'clock relative to the application for
approval as a subdivision the property of Dianne Estates, Inc.,.Liberty
Ave. from Revere St. in a northwesterly direction about 6001. Two citizens
appeared and looked at plans. No questions - no objections. It was recom-
mended by the Board that the name of Liberty Ave. be changed to "Quincy
Ave." Approval withheld until notice of acceptance received from the Board
of Health.
School Committee
Mr. Richard Crm well representing the School Committee appeared
for information and assistance re: future school planning. He stated that
there is immediate need of two new schools, but since both could not be
built at the same time there was a question of which area was in most ur-
gent need -Maple St. or Franklin School addition. The Committee would like
some figures on which to base a choice. It was suggested by the Board that
the Wheeler Estate is definitely under way and is the biggest new develop..
ment at this time. Also the county road is going through that area which
will no doubt further open it for building. On the other hand Cary Farm is
also being developed altho more slowly, and the proposed intra -town road
would make a difference in the Fiske territory. It was suggested that this
is a problem which the new employee of the Planning Board might well study
as it is within his province, and that a map be drawn showing the number
of subdivisions under way, the area still left under the old lotting, new
roads, and other pertinent information which would help the committee to
visualize the situation. This information should be available in time for
presentation at the next town meeting.
Silva - Smith - Ampola
Form A submitted by Dr. Smith is being held to wait the 15 -day
appeal per .on Board of Appeals action.
The Board signed plans and agreements submitted by Joseph Silva
for subdivision on Sunny Knoll Terrace, extending off Sunny Knoll Me. in
a northerly direction about 400 feet as shown on plan dated Nov. 9, 1953.
The Board signed plans and agreements submitted byRoseolo
to subdivide a parcel of land adjacent to 185 Burlington St.7arff to lay
out a street approximately 725 feet long running from Burlington St.
"Graham Road" was suggested as a name for the road.
C
The latter two plans had previously been approved under the old
subdivision rules and regulations.
Selectmen
The Board adjourned to the Selectmen's room to discuss with the
Selectmen the progress of the proposed intra -town road running westerly
from Bedford st. Both Boards agree that this should be presented to the
town soon before the land is further built upon. The First National Stores
already have a plan on which they have allowed a 25' contribution to the
road, but if a 70' road is planned there should be more allowed on this
plan. The Selectmen have not as yet heard from the Viano Properties, and
if the rumor is substantiated that they are planning a shopping center
they could build right up to their line, which would not leave enough room
for the road. The Selectmen will get in touch with Mr. Viano and go on
from there.
Meeting adjourned at 9:55 o'clock.
