Monday, July 6,1953
Present: Adams, Grindle, Irwin, Potter, Ripley
Meeting opened at 7:45 o'clock.
Informal discussion held on proposal for town meeting.
Decided to ask Selectmen if the Planning Board could use
Mr. Walker to work out ways and means for the plan under
vonsideration for buying land, the amount of land available
for this purpose, the possible ways of financings etc. An
alternate plan would be to increase the lot sizes possibly
to one acre area. It was deemed advisable to ask several
City Planners to meet with the Board, one at a time, to see
if a plan could be worked out by that means. The names of
Perry No -tons 328 Bedford St. and Allen Banjamins Concord
Rd., Lincoln were suggested. It was decided to ask one for
the next meeting.
It was also decided to submit an Atendment prohibiting
C-1 and C-2 uses in industrial areas.
The Board then adjourned to meet with the Selectmen
where Mr. Adams explained the plan under consideration for
buying up portions of land. Altho there are many difficul-
ties and many angles to be considered, the Planning Board
teels the problem is serious enough to make it worth look-
ing into and does not wish to throw it out without investi-
gation. The Board of Selectmen agreed to study the question.
Meeting adjourned at 9:25.
