Monday, June 8, 1953
Present: Adams, Grindle, Hathaway, Irwin, Potter, Ripley.
Meeting opened at 7:45 o'clock.
Hearing - Ampolo
Public hearing was held on application of Rose Ampolo of 12 Jones
ave., Chelsea, to subdivide a parcel of land adjacent to 185 Burlingtdn
st. and to lay out a street approximately 725 feet long running from Bur-
lington st. Mr. Ampolo presented plans for the petitioner. Stix citizens
were present. A few questions were asked but there were no objections.
Plans were approved subject to approval by Town Engineer and Board of
Health.
Letter read from Harriet Trenholm of 222 Marrett street suggesting
the Planning Board consider c ng ;Tr property from residential to
.industrial zone inasmuch as the nearness of the airport has ruined it for
residential purposes.
Letter read from Vine Valley Realty Carp. of 145 Hanover St., Boa -
ton,, requesting date for hearing on plans which have been tentatively
approved for continuation of ('want street. Date for hearing set for Mon-
day, June 29 at 8 o'clock.
Letter read from Mrs. Helen Sarano of 315 Lincoln street request-
ing information on area deemed itfectedrequest-for change of zone
from R-1 to C-1 on Barrymeade Farm, corner of Marrett road and Lincoln st.
Area set at 1000 feet radius frcm intersection of Marrett road and Lincoln
street.
Letter read from Board of Health suggesting that development of
Lincoln Terrace off Lincoln street, wait until connection with the sewer
can be made.
Hearing - Universal Development Corp.
Public hearing was held on application for approval as a subdivi-
sion the property of Universal Development Corporation and located as
follows: off Adams street beginning about 2701 southwest of North street,
thence running northerly, westerly and southerly a distance of about 1270'
to Adams street. Mr. Nylander and Mr. Platin appeared for petitioner.
Six citizens were present. Mrs. Lidberg asked if the drain now in exist-
ence would continue to drain the back land and was informed it would.
There were no objections. The plans were approved subject to approval by

Letter read from Mr. Tropeano res Cary Estate development, first ,
portion of which is answered by Mr. Stevens and second part turned over
to Mr. Burns for reply.
Semonian
Mr. Peter Semonian, 207 Woburn street, and Mrs. Livermore appeared
with question relative to two lots facing on Way from Woburn street oppo-
site Webb street which has been in existence many years. Wished to know
if these could be built upon. Informed that it was believed a street
would have to be built but would refer the matter to Town Counsel to see if
the Way was deemed an accepted street..
Bill
Bill presented by Rita McNamara, typing and mimeographing 75 sets
of sewer specifications, $33.00. Unanimously voted the bill be paid.
Robinson Hill
Letter read from Mr. William Burns, Town Engineer, disapproving
plans for Robinson Hill on several points. Moved by Mr. Hathaway, seconded
by Mr. Potter that this report be submitted to Mr. Stevens, Town Counsel,
for purpose of having him draft a reply to Mr. Newgent from the Planning
Board. Unanimously voted.
Discussion
Informaltdiscussion held on Mr.,Ripley's idea of acquiring land.
It was suggested that the Selectmen be requested to appoint a committee
to study ways and means; also that the plan be mentioned to various other
town committees to get their reaction. It was felt that John O'Connor
would know the various areas which might be considered. A balance sheet
prepared for town meeting shoring pros and cons was also deemed advisable.
Meeting adjourned at 10 o'clock.
