' Monday, March 30, 1953
Present: Grindle, Hathaway, Irwin, Potter, Ripley - Adams at 9:00.
Meeting opened at 7:45 with Mr. Potter acting as chairman in the ab-
sence of Mr. Adams.
Bills
Bills presented as follows: Louise M. Baker, secretarial services
for March, $115.68; Mass. Federation of Planning. Boards, annual dues, $20.00;
Rita McNamara, typing agreements, Site & Shelter, $11..00. Unanimously voted
these bills be paid.
Rearing - Colonial Development Co.
Public hearing was held on petition of Colonial Development Co. to
extend Foster and Dane roads as per plans of Miller & N,ylander dated March
16, 1953. No objectors appeared. It was voted to approve this petition sub
jest to approval by Mr. Burns and Board of Health with the provision that a
temporary cul-de-sac be built at the end of Foster road.
Hearing - Leeland Construction Co.
Public hearing was held on petition of Leeland Construction Co. for
approval as a subdivision a parcel of land on southerly side of Burlington
street being a portion of so-called "Graham Farm" with two proposed roads to
run southerly from Burlington street for a total distance of appraximately
1600 feet as shown on plans of Miller & Nylander dated Feb. 7, 1953.
Mr. McConchie was present as petitioner and twelve citizens were
present. Questions were asked as to drainage, type of houses, etc. There
were no objections. It was voted that approval be given subject to approval
by Mr. Burns and Board of Health.
Universal Development Corporation
Mr. Ducharme appeared for tentative approval of eight lots on Adams
street and Westwood road as shown on plan by Donald Reardon dated May 18,
1949. Plans taken under advisement.
Silva
Mr. Silva came in looking for plans which had previously been approved.
Was advised we would try and locate them in a day or two and let him know.
Vine Valley Realty Co.
Mr. Joseph Palermo of Murdock street, Somerville appeared for tenta-
tive approval of development on property opposite Grant street to East street
as shown on plans dated Feb. 2, 1953. Taken under advisement.
Robinson Hills
Mr. Harvey Newgent appeared for tentative approval of his Robinson
Hills plans. Said he wished to go ahead with his plans and start building,
that he had word from Mr. Jackson that 50% of the area was usable for cess-
pools and that 50% would have Individual testings. The Board stated that tie y
could not go ahead on a verbal report and that any report should come first
to those who did tie hiring and not to the developer. Mr. Newgent was told
he must wait until a full written report had been received by the Board.
Mr. Swift
Mr. Swift appeared representing a number of clients, among whom were
the Cooks, Royals, Kellys, and Baileys, who objected to proposed Robinson
street to be built by Mr. Newgent to his Robinson Hills development. There
are many legal entanglements involving rights of way and water rights, etc.
which will have to be studied further.
Westgate Builders. Inc.
Mr. Sylvester and Mr. Thompson of Everett Brooks office appeared for
tentative approval of plans of Crawford road off North Hancock street on land
formerly of Burgoyne as shown on plan of Everett M. Brooks. Left with Mr.
Burns for report next week.
It was decided to invite Mr. Jacitith and Mr. Beauvais to the next in-
formal hearing on Universal plans that they might see the changes which have
been made in their plans.
Meeting adjourned at 10:20 o'clock.
