Bills Bills presented as follows: Adams Press, advertising two hearings Feb. 21, March 5, Site & Shelter, "Street" - $7.52. John Lichtenberg, bring- ing population map to date, six months, $46.40. Unanimously voted the bills be paid. Universal Building Cora. Hr. Ducharme, Mr. Platin, and Mr. Harris Reynolds, attorney, appeared with plans for development of Universal Building Corporation in which they had made a slight change. An easement had been secured from Mr. R. J. Woody which would allow the sewer to pass through his property, thereby keeping the road level to approximately two feet instead of four. At present it is not possible to make an additional entrance, but a street is planned so as to join one of Mr. McConchie's which is now under consideration for development. Twenty-eight citizens were present. Mr. John Beauvais spoke at length on the traffic problem which would be seriously increased by this development, stating that Burlington street is only a narrow country road, is already overcrowded, has no sidewalks, and is very dangerous for school children, of which there are 38 in the immediate neighborhood. Mr. Adams stated that the Town had once applied for a widening of Burlington street in conjunction with the County but nothing had been done about it and now so many new houses had been built upon it,it would seem to be impractical. He also stated that the Planning Board was tripg to look ahead and do what was best for the town as a whole but there wdre certain limits beyond which they could not go. Mr. Reynolds, speaking for his client, said that this was not a new plan, it has been under consideration since 1940 at which time plans had been approved by the then Board of Survey; that Universal Building Corp. had planned a development of good homes which would be a credit to the town, and he did not believe the Planning Board or the Town could legally stop a de- velopment simply because it increased a traffic problem which already existed. The general feeling of the citizens present was that they objected to the development on the grounds of an increased traffic hazard. The plans were taken under advisement and for consultation with Mr. Stevens. Leeland Construction Co. Mr. Leeland McConchie and Mr. Nylander appeared with plans for tentative approval of subdivision on "old Graham farm" on Burlington street. Plans taken under advisement. Cary Estate Mr. Joseph P. Spinelli of 38 Winthrop road appeared with plans for subdivision on Cary and Shade streets, dated March 3, 1953 by Miller and Nylander. This has a total of 71 lots. The plans were returned for a drain- age layout and second entrance. Lexington Estates Trust Mr. Pat Tropeano appeared with plan showing approximately 1600 feet along Waltham street between Liberty Drive and Vine Brook which he would like to change to a business zone. Taken under advisement. Meeting adjourned at 10:45 o'clock. D. D. Hathaway, Clerk 1mb I
