HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-12-081 1 1 PLANNING BOARD MEETING Monday, Dec. 8, 1952 Present: Adams, Hathaway, Irwin, Johnson, Potter, Ripley. Meeting opened at 7.45 o'clock. Bill presented by Louise M. Baker for secretarial service Nov. 2 and 18, $10.00. Unanimously voted the bill be paid. Hearin - DeVries Construction Co. Inc. A public hearing was held relative to the application for approval as a subdivision the property of DeVries Construction Co., Inc. located be- tween Massachusetts avenue and Paul Revere road comprising Battle Green Road and Minute Man Lane. Present were Mr. and Mrs. David Govan. There were no objections. Mr. Ripley moved, Mr. Johnson seconded, that the lay- out for Battle Green road and Minute Man Lane petitioned for by DeVries Construction Co. be approved subject to approval by Town Engineer and Board of health. Unanimously voted. Chamber of Commerce Twenty --four members of the Chamber of Commerce, Harold Michelson chairman, appeared for discussion and information relative to the Board's plans for off-street parking. Mr. Adams answered the questions as far as possible and explained that the subject had been studied for the past two or three years; that several plans which the Board had approved had been defeated at Town Meetings; that an article on Edison Way in the last town xarrant was indefinitely postponed; and that there definitely would be an article in the warrant for annual March town meeting., It was suggested that the Chamber of Commerce appoint a representative to meet with the Planning Board and that any specific ideas would be welcomed. Meeting tentatively planned for December 29th. Mrs. Albert A. Ross Mrs. Albert A. Ross, 101 Autumn street, Malden, appeared for informa- tion as to how to change back to business zone her property located at 419 Merrett road which had been put into residential district. She had no business in mind for the present but felt that the property was more valuable as a business zone. After some discussion Mr. Potter moved, Mr. Hathaway seconded, that the Board sponsor this change for Mrs. Ross. Spagnuolo Mr. E. V. Spagnuolo of 1273 Maine St.., Waltham appeared with tentative plans of land of Silva on Sunnyknoll avenue. He stated that the 50' lots as shown on the plan were registered in 1904, P. 14, Plan Book 370, -Regis- try of Deeds, lots 18 thru 44. However, the only legal frontage shown was one lot on Reed street which would make it impossible to develop without building a street for entrance ft that olo would check further ' dig 1.e Mr. 5pagnu and come in again on the 29th. Farley Mr. Rafferty and Mr. Farley of 881 Worcester Road, Framingham, appeared with plans for a restaurant which they would like to build on part of Swenson property at Junction of Route 128 and Route 2 with entrtace off Weston street. This area would have to be changed from residential to C-1 business zone. They were advised of the proper procedure to take to institute a change in zone. It was suggested that the Board meet with the Board of Selectmen re the parking problem on Monday, December 15 at 9 o'clock. Meeting adjourned at 1000 o'clock. Dvb. Hathaway, Olerk 1 1
