Lester Andrews
A petition received from Lester Andrews and others for change of zone
to C-2 from an R-1 on both sides of Bedford street from the present business
zone southerly to land of Bailey and Martin. Date for hearing set for Mon-
day October 20, 8 p.m. in Town Engineer's roam. The area deemed affected -
all property owners on both sides of Bedford street between Harrington Road
and Hill and Revere streets, westerly side of Hancock street to Hancock Ave.
It was moved by Mr. Potter, seconded by Mr. Hathaway, that the Plan-
ning Board sponsor no more petitions for change in zoning laws, that all
cases of proposed amendments go to Selectmen for placing on the warrant. So
voted.

PLANNING BOARD MEETING
Monday, Sept. 29, 1952
Present: Adams, Hathaway, Irwin, Potter.
Meeting opened at 7:45 pm.
Mr. Adams read a copy of letter from Lexington Chamber of Commerce
to Board of Selectmen again bringing up the matter of off-street parking.
It was decided to write a letter to the Board of Selectmen suggesting a
joint meeting to discuss the matter on Monday, October 20th.
A letter was also read from the National Federation of Planning
Boards announcing a National Planning Conference to be held October 5-9,
1952 at the Sheraton -Plaza Hotel, Boston. Of special interest is a
Clinic: Subdivision Control - to be held at 2.00 p.m. Monday, Oct. o.
Ridge Construction
Mr. Bertagna and Mr. Zintz appeared with regard to decision on sub-
division of Ridge Construction Co. Were advised that both the Planning
Board and the State would approve an entrance about 1251, or one lot, nearer
Watertown street and to submit plans accordingly. Also -they are to incor-
porate in the deeds the fact that no entrances are to be made on the Highway.

Re Hearing on Carrig's petition for change of zone which was held
Monday, September 15, on motion of Mr. Hathaway, seconded by Mr. Irwin, it
was voted unanimously that the Planning Board go on record as being opposed
to the petition for two reasons: 1 - lack of sufficient accessible frontage,
and 2 - that it would not materially serve the business needs of the Citi-
zens of Lexirg ton.
