HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-05-19PLANNING BOARD MEETING Monday, clay 19,1952 ' Present: Adams, Hathaway, Irwin, Johnson, Potter, Ripley Fleeting opened at 7:45 p.m. DeVries The Board studied plans of Mr. DeVries left the previous week. They disapproved of the one opening on Massachusetts avenue which was approximately opposite site of proposed new school, and which they felt would cause a traffic hazard. Mr. DeVries appeared, and it was suggested to ham that he change the opening on Massachusetts avenue to Paul Revere road and make an additional entrance from Massachusetts avenue on the other end of the development. Mr. DeVries agreed and took the plans for alteration. Board of Health It was decided to ask the Board of health to meet with the Board next Monday night. It was decided to ask for $3000 for Sanitary Engineer at Town Meeting, also to suggest a new road opposite Central Fire Station to northwest section of town. Meeting adjourned at 10 o'clock. D. D. Hathaway, Clerk Mr. Adams announced a meeting of the Planning Boards and Air Force to be held at :334 Boylston street, Boston on Tuesday at 2 o'clock. He read the minutes of the previous meeting. It was stated that if the direction of the present proposed runway were changed it would greatly diminish the danger to the Manor section. It was moved by Mr. Ripley and seconded by Mr. Johnson that the Board go on record as being opposed to the construction of the proposed extension of east -west runway at Bed- ' ford Airport as a potentially dangerous landing. So voted. Edison Way Plans submitted of Edison Way were again studied. It was de- cided that the Board approved only of an all -parking lot with one en- trance and one exit and not a finished street. The Board would be glad to meet with Mr. William Ballard and further discuss the matter. Board of Health It was decided to ask the Board of health to meet with the Board next Monday night.
