Present: Adams, Caouette, Irwin, Johnson, Potter, Ripley
Meeting opened at 7145 p.m.
Annual Report
Mr. Adams, chairman, submitted copy of Annual Report for 1951 for
approval by the Board. Mcfred by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Caouette, that
the report be accepted and submitted for the Town Report. So voted.
Assessor/4
It was suggested that the Board of Assessors be invited to meet with
the Planning Board to discuss the assessment of parking areas. So voted, the
meeting to be Monday, February 4th.
Five Fields
Mr. Caouette retired from the Board.
Mrs. Norman Fletcher of 36 Moon Hill Road appeared, asking for per-
mission to put in a temporary culvert and to strip top soil about 600 feet on
site of proposed new road in Five Fields development in order that work trucks
may pass over it. It was suggested that an 18-20" pipe be used for temporary
passage. Mr. Ripley moved, Mr. Irwin seconded, permission be granted. So voted.
eRidge Construction
Mr. William Ford representing Mr. Everett Brooks for Ridge Construction
Co. appeared with plan showing entrance relocated to Concord Turnpike, as some
dispute had arisen over Malvern Terrace entrance so that it could not be used,
and the Pike entrance seemed the only solution. The Board will look at the
land on Thursday at 2 o'clock. Plan taken under advisement.
Pollen Estates
Mr. Caouette retired from the Board and appeared in the interest of R.
Lockwood Tower of Pollen Estates, Inc. for definitive approval of part of
Ledgewood road, Brookwood road, and part of Dawes road. Plan approved subject
to approval of Mr. Burns.
Plea:lantAssociatee
Mr. Small appeared for Pleasant Associates for definitive approval of
Lexwin Drive. Taken under advisement and to be referred to Mr. Burns.
Fergon - Hobbs Brook Basin
Mr. Charles E. Ferguson appeared in interest of a petition which is to be
made for taking of Hobbs Brook Basin area for recreational purposes by M.D.C.
This will involve appointees from Arlington, Lexington, Lincoln, Waltham, Belmont,
and Cambridge. Mr. Ferguson would like the Board to procure the present holdings
and rights involved by Lexington.
Blackwell-Brodhurat
Mr. Blackwell and Mr. Brodhurst appeared re changing of zone from R-1
to M-1 as formerly recorded in record of Jan.7,1952. Stated that Form A had
been completed and signed by Mrs. Bean and ten signatures for article to be
inserted in warrant. Area affected defined as all private owners within the
area to be rezoned plus abettors between access and up to and including Tureotte.
The Board voted to accept the signatures inasmuch as the article will appear in.
the Town Warrant in any event.
Voted that a letter be written formally advising them that a check for
$20.00 should be sent in.
F.K.Johnson
Mr. Johnson retired from the Board and reappeared in the interest of Mr.
F.K.Johnson with petition for change of zone to business on lot of land om Bed-
' ford street now owned by William and John S. Gibson, the area to be increased by
approximately S2'. Voted that the petition take the regular course. Area for
signatures designated as both sides Bedford street from Common to Hill and Revere
streets, Hancock avenue, Tewksbury and Shirley streets.
Meeting adjourned at 10:30 until Monday, February 4th.
