Meeting opened"at 7s45 p.m.
Hearing - Site -& Shelter
A public hearing was held at 8 p.m. upon application for approval as
a subdivision of a portion of the property located on Concord Avenue owned by
Site & Shelter,Inc. known as Five Fields, together with the extension of
approximately 2000 lineal ft. of street according to plats and profiles sub-
mitted by Mr. Norman Fletcher of 36 Moon Hill Rd. In addition to the petitioner,
there appeared Mr. Lloyd LeBoeuf of 19 Oakland St. and Mr. and Mrs. Gough of 451
Concord ave., all of whom were recorded as having no objections. Mr. Potter
moved and Por. Johnson seconded that the plans be accepted as submitted subject
to approval by Mr. Burns, Town Engineer.
Parking - Mr. Howland
Mr. Howland, representative of Minot, Williams & Bangs, appeared for
discussion re: parking problem in Center. He stated that the property in the
rear of their stores had been purchased with the idea that the major part would
' be used for parking, that they did not intend to erect any more buildings altho
some of the present buildings might be extended. Asked if a town street there
would help, he replied that it would in that it would help in providing light-
ing and patroling. On the other hand, more parking space would be provided if
there were no street. His Company would consider paving the area.
He stated that his Company had been delayed in taking any action until
the Town made a decision as to what they wanted and that they were willing to
go ahead as soon as that decision was reached. The Planning Board thanked Mr.
Howland for his views on the matter.
Mfr. Slocum
Mr.C.L.Slocum of 92 Blossom street appeared with preliminary plans for
subdivision on Allen street. Some changes were suggested on a proposed street
and he was given a copy of the Subdivision Rules and Regulations for further
study.
Bills
The following bills were submitted and upon motions duly made and
seconded all were unanimously voted to be paid: Rita McNamara, thing agreements,
$6.00; Spaulding -Moss, 6 copies 24 sq.ft.blue ozalids, pop.maps, 422.35; Spauld-
ing Moss, 2 copies 24 sq.ft.blue ozalids, pop.maps, $7.95.
Custom Built Home
Mr. Potter moved and Mr. Irwin seconded that the Planning Board approve
the work done under the agreement of Custom Built Homes dated Deo.7,1949, sub-
jest to the approval of Mr. Burns.
Ryder - Iex.Estatea Trust
Mr. Burns presented agreement for Mr. Ryder on extension of Sher-
burne road and will present it to Mr. Stevens for checking after which he
will secure Mr. Ryder's signature and check, and will notify the members of
the Board that it is ready for their signatures.
Meeting with Selegj=
It was announced by Mr. Adams that there would be a meeting with the
Selectmen next Monday night, May 28th, provided an appointment could be made.
It is planned to discuss Edison Way; also Johnson Road with the idea of
getting Mr. Butler, Mr. DeBonis, and Mr. Kelley to cooperate in planning this.
Mr. Potter moved and Mr. Johnson seconded that Mr. Burns be authorized to have
a map drawn of this general area. So voted.
Also to be discussed is the continuation of the several streets men
tioned previously. It was also voted to have Mr. Burns check with Mr.Stevens
to see if there was any way in which an old map of Gilboa Park dated 1897,
could be wiped out.
Mr. Potter moved and Mr. Johnson seconded that bids be secured for
printing and binding the zoning by-laws. go voted.
Mr. Johnson moved and Mr. Irwin seconded that the Board hire compe-
tent help for cross-indexing the Planning Board records.
