He was advised that altho the Board would like to do so, it did not see any way in which it could be done legally but to leave the plans and the matter would be taken up with Town Counsel. Recreation Committee Five members of the Recreation Committee with Dor.Aoward Foley as spokesman appeared with proposed sites of land for play areas to be lo- cated on the west side of town for which they would like approval of the Planning Board. One site is on Grassland street between Waltham and Spring streets, another on corner of Spring and Shade streets, another on Cary Estate. While this is not strictly within the province of the Board, it can approve sites and lend their moral support which they agree to do. The Board believes that the Committee should go ahead and acquire land now for such purposes before the town grows any more. The Simeone development on Maple street was suggested as an area worth looking into, also the Newgent land on Wood street. Sexton The Board feels that there should be something in the Town Warrant saying it recommends the Sexton land be acquired by the Town for future town purposes, possibly a police station.
