F`riday,November 3,1950
Present: Cromwell, .Adams, Johnson, Potter - Town Counsel Stevens
I:Ieeting opened at 8st0 o'clock for the purpose of considering the sug-
gestions and opinions expressed at the Hearing on Zoning By-laws held the
previous evening.
Conclusionss
Richard Porter. This Board does not favor Mr. Porter's proposal and will so
announce at the Town h,eeting.
Louise Sexton. This Board does not recommend this area be rezoned for busi-
ness at this time. They wish more time tcWtudy the situation and
among other things to consider the possibility of its being purchased
by the Town.
Building Permits. The suggestion to eliminate data from applications for
building permits as suggested by I1r. Howard Custance is not favored.
C-11. The suggestion by heir. Blackwell that items subject to approval by Board
of Appeals in C-1 districts be exempt from Board of Appeals in C-2
district is not favored.
0_2. It was decided to delete the word "retail" under section 5 (d) 3 b.
C-1. With respect to C-1 zones it was decided not to put anything in the war-
rant prohibiting liquor stores. The sense of the meeting was, how-
ever, that proper words should be drafted and available for use in
case such an amendment was made from the floor.
b R-2. Ur. IIerriam's suggestion that the area west side of Grant street to
RR track to Adams Press property be included in R-2 area was not
approved. However, they were in accord with L!r. Haskell Reed's sug-
gestion that area described under (b) R-2-1 should not be in R-2.
8-A - 100' frontages. The suggestion that 100' frontages but with more
depth be allowed was not favored, and that the minimum of 125' should
stand as written.
It is the desire of the Board that the Zoning By-laws take precedence.
over other items on the warrant with the exception of the bequest.
Kr. Stevens suggested that the Planning Board get some town meeting
members lined up to speak at the town meeting for the zoning by-laws. The
members of the Board agree and will do so.
The meeting; adjourned at 10s10 p.m.
