HomeMy WebLinkAbout1950-09-08IPLANN12IG BOARD METING Friday, Sept.8, 1950 Presents Cromwell, Caouette, Ripley, Potter. Meeting opened at 7x45 p.m. Porter Request of Richard P.Porter and Jane M. Porter of 786 Concord Turnpike for the Planning Board to determine the area affected by pro- posed change in zoning by-law to permit the erection of a Howard John- son stand on the southerly side of Route 2. Area designated as follows both sides of Route 2 in an easterly line from the new Route 128 bridge to Spring street, thence turning northerly on both sides of Spring street, to the line of Shade street, southerly on Spring street on the west side of Spring street to the end of the land of Gallagher, thence westerly at right angles to the line of the said Route 128. Chapter 90 Road to Winchester Letter read from Selectmen asking whether the Planning Board would recommend that they apply for a Chapter 90 road running through the Wheeler Estate connecting this town with Winchester. Majority were in favor to the extent of making an appointment with the Winchester Planning Board and Selectmen to look at the land and talk over the project. At this point Mr.Hatch of the Winchester Planning Board telephoned, and a date was set - namely, Wednesday, September 13th at 4 o'clock. Members of the Lexington Board of Selectmen to be invited. The clerk was instructed to write a letter to the Selectmen to this effect. Zoning By-laws At 8 otclock I,;r.Harold Stevens, Town Counsel, appeared and a dis- cussion of the zoning by-laws followed.
