May 29, 1950
Present: Cromwell, Adams, $urns, Caouette, Johnson, Ripley, Potter.
Meeting opened at 7:45 p.m.
Bills
The following bills were presented: Adams Press, $1.50, advertising
hearing. Foto Beam,Inc., $1.90. Voted that these bills be paid.
Enainperins Deutz.
After discussion by the members relative to the need of the Engineering
Department for more help, a motion was made by Mr.Adama and seconded by Mr.
Potter that "A letter be written to the Board of Selectmen stating that in
view of the fact that the new Subdivision Rules and Regulations require ade-
quate inspection, that the Public Works Department be requested to provide
such personnel as is necessary, and that a copy of this letter be sent to the
Appropriation Committee." Unanimously voted. It was suggested that this
letter be sent by Wednesday in time for the Selectmen's meeting. It was also
suggested that a copy of the Subdivision Rules and Regulations accompany these
letters.
Harris Interest.
The Planning Board decided to give tentative approval to plans showing
Flintlock Road estates of approximately 1000 ft., plan by John F.Rand, E.C.,
Melrose, dated June 18, 1940.
1775 House
No action taken on the 1775 House parking situation as they had been re-
quested to send a letter to the Planning Board regarding this problem, and
this had not been received.
A,fchumacher
There was some discussion regarding the application for removal of soil
by A.Schumacher. Mr.Adama moved and Mr.Potter seconded a motion that "The
Planning Board go on record as being opposed to the petition of August Schu-
macher to obtain permission from the Board of Appeals for removal of soil
from his land." Unanimously voted. It was also suggested that a member of
the Planning Board appear before the Board of Appeals hearing, so stating.
It was suggested that the Apartment-Hotel by-law be brought up at the
next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 9:15 until the following Monday evening.
