April 3, 1950
' Meeting called to order 7:45 P. M.
Present: Adams, Cromwell.. Ripley, Adams, Potter, Caouette
and Burns, Town Engineer
Informal group of citizens, appeared, to do with
recommendations for design to Town Buildings of Aesthetic
degree --historical aura of the town. Hunt Block, Hancock
School, Fiake School out of balance with Colonial tradition.
No thought given to continuity and design. Suggest that
article in the Warrant, for next Town Meeting, for Committee
to be appointed --Municipal and Mercantile buildings. Wellesley
has established a regulation to set up an Art Commission. Taken
under advisement. Frank Currier, W. H. Lyons, Aiden Ripley
spoke as a citizen.
8:10 Fred Joyce, Engineer --Harry Hull, appeared with
study plan of land for development off Lowell and Maple Streets.
Taken under advisement.
Bill of Foto Beam, Inc, $2.62, black line print, approved.
Mr. Joyce and Mr. Craig appeared relative to development
of land off East Street with plan. Planning Board made suggest-
ions as to changes showing street carried through to Burnham land.
New plan to be submitted, Monday, April 10th.
8:55 P. M. Mr. Umagetm., representing Everett M. Brooks,
Engineer, and Mr. Reinsterner appeared relative to proposed _
development of former Ring property. Taken under advisement.
O:25 P. M. Mr. Nyla.nder, representing Harvey Nugent,
showing proposed layout of interior of development. Will
bring in final plans, Monday, April 10th, 1950.
Disbussion of further articles for newspaper.
Tentative Appointment made to meet with Real Estate group
of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Thursday, April 6th
at 8 P. M. at Esterbrook Hall.
Moved to have 500 reprints of Zoning By -Law for distribution
to Town Meeting members.
Meeting adjourned 10:30 P. M.
