HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-06-01 PLANNING BOARD MEETING June 1, 1948 Present: Cromwell, Johnson, Adams, Richards, Worthen, Burns. Castle Road The Castle Road situation was discussed further with reports by Messrs. Adams and Richards on conversations with AAr.Oscar Carlson, owner of the lot at the corner of Hayes Avenue and Castle Road. The Planning Board has received a letter from John Baskin stating that he intended to build Castle Road to comply with Town requirements. Mr.Richards moved and 99r.Johnson seconded a motion that Mr.Baskin be released from his bond on Castle Road construction according to agreements to be prepared by Town Counsel Lynch. Unanimously voted. Howland Plan$ Before considering the application for approval of the plans of ?& .John Howland for a home on one of the veteran's lots on Rill Street, the pertinent paragraph in the regulations for applicants for these veterans' lots was read to the Board. There was some discussion on Mr.Howland's plans and &r.Johnson moved and Mr.Worthen seconded a motion that the P1a»n4ng Board recommends fur- ther study as to the exterior design. Harm "man Plans Plans for a prefabricated house on tot 4 of the veterans' lots on Hill Street were submitted by Harry Raman, 73 Central Street, Waltham. The clerk was instructed to write a letter saying that according to the agreement signed by Mr.Wyman, plans, specifications and plot plans are necessary before the Planning Board can give their approval. The Board would like to call attention to the fact that in the past prefabricated homes have not been passed by the Building Inspector and have had to go before the Board of Appeals. The Board suggest consultation with the Building Inspector before returning to the Planning Board. The meeting was adjourned at 9130 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Alan G. Adana, Clerk
