HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-05-11120, 919119R9 I May no 1948 Present: Cromwell, Burns, Johnson,,Adams, Richards John Blackwell W.Blackwell met with the Board to discuss acting as an expert advisor. Recommendations for an aerial survey from Mr.Blackwell and Mr. Paxton, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, were reported by Mr.Cromwell. The Selectmen are not asking the aerial survey of the Planning Board but as it would be helpful for many departments, the Selectmen will try to find Rinds to aid in the expense. Two bids have been received for this type of survey. Mr.Blackugell explained further their use and importance to the future growth of the town. In fact it would be impossible to re- zone Lexington without this type of map. Fle expects to completely re- write the zoning by-laws and re -draw the map He also expects to lay out the entire into neighborhood layouts. The 63500 appropriated at last annual town meeting will be sufficient. The revisions will be made with the public cooperation: i.e. group meetings, etc. $2500 is for re -drawing zoning by-law and map and $leis preliminary neighborhood study. Bir. Richards moved and Mr.Johnson seconded a motion that $2500 be appropriated for the purpose of revising the zoning by-law and map by Mr.John Blackwell as suggested in Mr.Blackwe" Is report of Dec.31,1947. Unanimously voted. Mr.Johnson moved and 63r.Richards seconded a motion that $1000 be appro- priated for the purpose of an overall neighborhood development study and other studies of Lexington by k1r.Bl.ackwell. Conference with Selectmen Mr.Cromwell will visit the Selectmen next 11onday to arrange for a new aerial map. Voted to approve bill to Bateman's for oilcloth, $2.10. Brackett Subdivision A proposed subdivision of the land at the corner of Revere and Han- cock attcrock streets was discussed by the Board. Mr.Adams will see Mr.Brackett. Mr. Richards moved and Mr.Johnson seconded a motion that the Planning Board after having carefully studied and reviewed page by page the new Board of Survey Regulations, do hereby officially adopt them. Voted unanimously. It has been reported that work has been started on his proposed devel- opment and the situation was discussed. Mr.Burns will discuss the matter with the Building Inspector.
