Building inspector Lindstrom explained his refusal on advice of Town Counsel to issue building permits for certain lots in the Manor sec- tion which did not conform to the regulations in section 81-Q Chapter 340 of the Acts of 1947. Before any discussion took place the entire meeting was adjourned to the meeting of the Board of Selectmen. Present at this meeting were representatives from the Lexington Real Estate Association. Mr.Robert C.Merriam explained the situation re- garding a lot he proposed to sell in the Manor.. and on which a building permit had been refused by the Building inspector. Town Counsel Lynch ex plained that under Section 81-Q, Chapter 340 of the Acts of 1947, which was copied directly from the section BI -H Chapter 211 of the Acts of 1936 which was accepted by the Town in 1938, no lot that was less than the present legal size and was not on a way accepted and approved by the Board of Survey and the Planning Board could be given a building permit. Considerable discussion from the floor and from the town officials followed this explanation. Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Paxton closed the meeting with the statement that immediate study would be given to the pro- gram and a quick solution would be (bund if possible. 1. Clerical help - the Planning Board is to arrange for such help. 2. Name of a candidate to fill the position of Thayer Rudd on the Planning Board - the Planning Board is to bring in its own sug- gestions. 3. Present rules, regulations and records of the Board of Survey. They are to be turned over to the Planning Board by Miss Uarxmq and Joseph DeFbe. 4.
