The Board considered a proposed subdivision in East Lexington of which Six I.bon Hill,Inc. is to be the developer. I:Ir.John C.Harkness, R4r.Leonard J.Currie and others were present. These individuals are principals of the developer cor- poration and members of Architects Collaborative. This site is on either side of a new road connecting with the westerly end of Fern Street. The plan was dated I:7arch 29,1947 and revised as of April 7,1947. miller & Nylander are engineers. The Board approved the layout subject to provision for a turnaround on the northerly end of the short section of road which runs at right angles to the pro- posed new main road. Ridge Constraction Companv.Inc. Mr.Everett II.Brooks, Civil Engineer, of Newtonville, represented the above developer. The proposed development is on both sides of the Concord Turnpike ad- -joining the Arlington line. The Board approved the layout subject to the following: the engineer was asked if the Board had any preference as to whether to extend Golden Avenue, Arl- ington (a I.0 -foot street) across the property in a westerly direction or to make a connection with Bowman ;Avenue. The latter connection would require a deep cut to provide a 10% grade. The Board expressed no preference, believing that either plan was satis- factory from its viewpoint provided a turnaround were made at the end of Golden Street if this were projected instead of being connected with Bowman Avenue. The plan was marked: "Proposed Subdivision of Land in Lexington, Massa- chusetts, Scale 1 inch equals 50 feet, March 31, 1947, Everett M. Brooks Company, Civil Engineers. Lovell Bus Lines,Inc. The Selectmen turned over to the Board a letter from the above asking the Board's advice. The above had asked for a permit to operate busses (1) from the Lexington -Lincoln Line over the Concord Highway to the Lexington -Arlington Line in both directions, (2) from the corner of I:Iarrett Road and Lincoln Street, over Lin- coln Street to Middle Street to Barrett Road in both directions. The Board discussed the situation and decided it saw no reason for not granting the permit and to advise the Selectmen of this decision. Adams Press.Inc.
