Hancock School
The sense of the meeting regarding taking of property on Parker Street for
a new school was as follows: The Board will take no official stand on the project.
It believes the proposed taking has certain very undesirable features. The Board
was not consulted in regard to this particular proposal but if it should take an
official stand it would be expected at the same time to recommend another site. It
is not in a position to do this since it has not studied this very complex subject
in view of the appointment of a special committee to do this work.
Zoning Bylaw .Amendment
' In view of certain errors in the notice of the hearing set for February 28,
it was decided to postpone the hearing until Mrch 14 pending publication of a
corrected notice.

The Board discussed the probable status of the triangular grass plot after
adoption of the proposed zoning bylaw amendment. The question was whether the
elimination of the existing zoning bylaw left the plot in a business zone, caused
it to become residential or merely left its status indeterminate. There is no
previous status to which it could automatically revert. F1r.Potter suggested that
no change be made in the currently proposed bylaw as this was already in the
warrant, The Board, recognizing that the plot is owned by the Field & Garden Club,
believed there was no risk in leaving its status indeterminate but that later on an
appropriate amendment should be made. It was suggested by the Selectmen that ul-
timately the plot might be given to the town.
The meeting adjourned at 10 p.m.
