The Board having received a letter from Mr. Lynch, the Torn
Counsel, to the effect that the papers in connection with Mr.
Faulkingham's petition for a change in the Zoning By-laws were
not in order, decided to write to Mr. Robie E. Kempton to this
effect.
Harrington Road
The Planning Board considered suggestions by Mr. Edgar F. Copell
as regards making Harrington Road one-way westbound. Mr. Copell
had suggested in a letter dated May 6 to Mr. DeFoe that ehannelizing
islands might be set up at the intersection of Massachusetts
Avenue and Bedford Street near the monument to facilitate the
movement of traffic from Massachusetts Avenue into Bedford Street
around the monument. The conclusion of the Planning Board was to
the effect that the proposed change would clear up one problem
by creating another. It was decided to write to the Selectmen
to this effect. '
Proposed Dog Track in Burlington
The Board voted to go on record as being opposed to the
establishment of a dog track in Burlington,
Mr. Elderd
Mr. Elderd (full name not available), 420 Massachusetts Avenue
has asked the Board's advice as to purchase of a 28 -foot strip
adjoining lot 12 near the intersection of Hillside Avenue and
Massachusetts Avenue. The property in question is marked as
Station Street on a map dated August 1893. .After considering the
matter the Planning Board concluded that it would never be
practicable to build a street at this location: It decided to
advise Mr. Elderd that it would be favorable to his wishes as
respects purchasing part of this property by him.
The meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.. sine die.
